A little bit of history. My wife bought this WJ before she was my wife. I’ve always been a Jeeper, so I was happy to take the hand me down when we bought her a newer vehicle. It’s a 2004 in Laredo trim with a 4.0 I6 and the oft maligned, but still spinning 42RE transmission. At 241k miles and counting she’s not as peppy as she once was. She’s pulled a lot of loads of dirt and mulch and while I’ve not pulled through a scale I estimate that about 3,000 pounds is as much as I’d want behind her. Maybe one day I’ll get a stroker and a new transmission... I’ll update this thread with old pictures of the ham radio install and other basic improvements I’ve made over time and then hopefully some exciting stuff in the future.
