Just recently picked up a 2003 jeep wrangler tj. I’ve always wanted one since I was a teenager now that my kids are getting older I was finally able to get one. Even tho we are building up my wife’s truck to go on overlanding trips now we are gonna start building up my wrangler too.

Roof top tents are very heavy for a TJ. The "medium" duty springs out there only go up to 1.5 to 2 inch lift. I use a Gazelle tent that literally takes 90 seconds to set up and take down. I also ended up getting rear springs that are an inch longer than the front to reduce sagging when it's loaded down. The picture is from our MABDR trip in May.

I love my LJ! The TJ/LJ platform has got to be one of my favorites but I am biased because I have owned a few ( also a few YJs and a lot of other models lol). I am in the opposite boat however. I have a 3 year old and a 4 month old and I can never take the LJ because I don't have the back seat in it and I'm not sure the cage will allow it. most of my camping is don't in my compass these days and I use the LJ for trail runs and events. I cant wait for my kids to be able to rid along with me. Here's mine.297674886_438727838185457_8954640508526698187_n.jpg
