Being a Discovery owner myself first thing I feel is maintenance. I’ve had my current Discovery 3 years and am just now “heavily modifying” these are extremely capable vehicles in stock/semi stock form

X2 catch up any and all maintenance. On a D2 I’d start with a complete cooling system overhaul, then shake out the entire driveline from transfer case, to driveshafts, to axles.
From what I’ve seen of Canadian Rovers be sure to treat rust prone areas before winter sets in with Krown or Fluid Film.
