1986 Isuzu Trooper II

Been pondering on a new project, something simple w\o all the electronics. 1986 Isuzu Trooper II 2.2L Turbo Diesel 4x4.
I found one in great shape w\ only 137,000 miles, 3 yr old paint & good solid upholstery w\ normal wear & no rip's. The motor is solid, no leaks or hick-up's.
Wanting to do a overland project with suspension up grade bumpers & winch. I've done frame of builds with 1946 Willy's CJ 2A & frame off re-do with a 1972 Suzuki LJ20 4x4.
Does any one have a Trouper (older model) as a overland rig? if so how does it do?

I don't know anyone here, mostly Gen2. Isuzu Trooper Mafia on facebook has a ton of the early Troopers and a lot of them are built out in an overland style. planetisuzu.com is a great resource as well.

I would buy it. I love Troopers. Its a very capable vehicle and not a particularly common one. I've seen some real head turner troopers.
