Hey everyone! I wanted to start a build thread to document my journey with my HJ47 Land Cruiser.

I traded my old 80 series for this truck on a whim. I wanted to really wanted to take on a challenging project. The truck definitely needs some love and restoration but, I think that she has some great potential.

Here is some information and my (goals):
-It's a long wheel base Australian pickup. (Goal is to build a rack in the rear for mounting my spare and tent)
-4.0 Inline 6 Diesel with 180km on the clock
- 4 speed manual transmission
-Dual fuel tank with a combined 42 gallon capacity
- 22-24 mpg so far
- Rear ARB Locker
- 33" General Grabbers

I travel quite a bit for work but I hope to keep steady updates on my build and trips.

This is the day I got her:IMG_1070.JPG

IMG_1581.JPG hello everyone. I took a bit of a hiatus to travel and also work on the trucks. The HJ47 is doing great. She is almost ready to take on her maiden voyage up to Pismo for Turf and Surf. Ill try to go through and post some updates on what all has been done to the rig. She took some time on the back burner as I was working on my FJ Cruiser.

Here is a picture from my buddy Trey and his 4runner out on some of the local trails.

IMG_1589.JPG Spent some time getting some new front and rear extended shackles on the HJ. It was a bit of pain with the 33 years of rust build up but we knocked it out.

I also made a wilson switch to bypass and eliminate the toyota super glow system for the glow plugs. I now just run a momentary push button switch to heat the glow plugs for cold starts. I also added a fj40 soft top in the mean until i get my roof all set up.IMG_1595.JPG IMG_1596.JPG

Spent some more time last weekend with my buddy miles getting my roof and front bumper/ winch set up. I think it came out pretty good. The truck is really starting to come together. IMG_20170827_161940_373.jpg 20170827_153954.jpg

Got a little crazy with some paint and freshened up the front grill. Pretty much my favorite combination of two words. I also got a FJ40 aluminum radiator to fit with a little extra homemade bracketry.20170903_143020.jpg
