I have a 99 TJ and im looking to bulk up the axles a bit and get a wider wheel base. My ultimate goal is to run it decently hard on 37’s but still have it somewhat driveable on the road. Are 1 tons the best way to go? Also with 1 tons what is the best option as far as suspension goes?

This may not be the best forum for your question but I will hive you my opinion.

If you are going to stick with stock power under the hood I would go with D44’s if you can find a set. They are plenty strong and with upgrade axles and a truss you will be good with 37’s.

You can also consider the ford 8.8 swap. It’s not a direct bolt in like the 44’s but still easier than the tons.

If you are going to put more power to the ground then you will definitely need one tons. Unless you buy a pre built setup it’s a very involved process. You will need plenty of time and plenty of money to pull it off from scratch.
