Update on the build… new suspension completely installed, waiting to get an alignment, new rear drive shaft, new rear axle bearings, and new steering shaft. New pics below.

New update on the upgrades. New to me axle housing that I cleaned up and painted and the most of the rear end back under the jeep. A day or two and I’ll be done.

The last few pics are where we are currently in the process. Lots of seized bolts. Waiting on delivery of brand new bolts for the rear control arms.

Update on the suspension upgrade on the TJ.

Right now I’m just refreshing the suspension with new shocks, new springs(4 inch lift), quick disconnect end links for front sway bar from JKS, a currectlync steering kit from rock jock, new front and rear trac bars, new steering gear box, adjustable control arms, new diff covers, and a couple...

I was able to get it. Now I have a bunch of parts sitting waiting to get installed. Will post progress pics as the build goes on.

Bought this TJ about a month ago. Already have all new suspension and steering parts. Currectlync steering kit, new drop pitman arm, new steering gear box, front trac bar, new coils, shocks, quick disconnect front sway bar end links, adjustable control arms, rear trac bar, power stop brake kit...

Once I have all of the new parts on the jeep that I ordered, I will post pics of the rig with all the new goodies! Hopefully that will be next week sometime.

I’m pretty much replacing everything that has to deal with steering. I should be getting my currectlync steering kit, tracbar, new steering gear box, new sway bar endlinks, new shocks, coils, and adjustable control arms early next week. Should drive like a new jeep after all of that work.

I will when I have time later today or tomorrow.

I paid $4k for it. The frame is completely rust free. I think I got a deal.

I believe the guy who owned before the guy I bought it from, lifted the jeep and didn’t put a pitman arm for a 4 inch lift on it. They didn’t replace anything to accommodate the lift at all.

I’m replacing the shocks, inner and outer tie rods and drag link as well. I’m doing a rock jock full steering kit.

I like that! Just turn the radio up! Hahaha!

Just got back from my local Offroad shop. Got an estimate for a rock jock steering kit, track bar, and new pitman arm. Upgrades will commence in about a week or two. Thanks for the info! I appreciate it. I have a lot to learn about jeeps!

So I just purchased a 97 TJ over the weekend. The steering feels really loose. I’m new to the jeep world too. Below are some pics of some bushings on the front end. Can anyone tell me what needs to be replaced to tighten up my steering? All bushings in pictures are trashed but don’t know...

Well after a month of looking for the right TJ to start with, I found it. Already has a lift and the drivetrain has been beefed up. Now to lock to in the deal this week and pick it up. More to come once it’s in my possession.
