We ended up having to reschedule due to the wife changing jobs. I did a scout trip though and there was snow as early as 3500ft so it was probably for the best. We are hoping for August instead.

Yeah we will be solo without a winch. I did just fit some brand new General ATX tires on it. But yeah not going to try to get too cute with the terrain with no winch available. I’m also going to take it to an off-road shop just to have them give it a full look through so that nothing is standing...

Yeah we plan on getting to bear lake from the east where the herd lookout area is. Hoping to avoid the ridge. A big thank you to everyone who replied on this thread. Really saved us from ruining our first trip.

Yep that’s the plan. It gets up to 4k elevation though so not sure where the snow cutoff is during that time of the season

So I’m considering putting a roof rack with a roof top tent on top of a 2018 Ram 1500 crew cab and while the racks all have various load limits for dynamic and static loads, I can’t seem to a straight answer as to how much load the roof itself can take when static. Generally I’m finding answers...
