They haven’t been on too many of my excursions due to the Navy keeping me away from home, but they (mainly Tala) love the outings.
Tala is a Miniature Siberian Husky at 3yo and Weldon is a Red Lab at 2yo. They’ve gone everywhere from Pennsylvania, Western Virginia, North Carolina camping to...
After seeing the registries being posted for the more popular vehicle companies, I felt a twinge in the pride I have for my Chevy that I cannot find a Registry for us. So modeling after them, here it is.
Leave your General Motors (Chevrolet, GMC, Buick, Cadillac) rig, brief description, photos...
Obvious forenote that this isn’t a true upright chair, the REI Kingdom Rocker has been a dream since I bought it. Durability is amazing and I have been able to rock myself to sleep in it quick a few times.
Downside is the foldable size and even with the sale price right now of $69 it’s a little...
My suggestion would be to make for the Blue Ridge or even AT before heading south. Having driven Illinois to Pensacola quite a few times, following the Mississippi is extremely boring with very little opportunity to trails minus Missouri and Tennessee.
Agreeable reaching the southern tip will...
The east coast is too developed in my opinion, every time I toss on avoid highways trying to get somewhere it still lands me on byways 75% of the time. So if you’re okay with the idea that travel will be easy, but still having good views of mountains and rolling hills, the AT will be wonderful...
A little sad I have a trip planned for the Paw Paw/Cumberland area now. Highly recommend this for those who haven’t explored the GWNF area, beautiful and peaceful land with little to no contact while out camping.
I know what you mean, I just don’t want to risk losing my bumper on a trail waiting for someone to make what I want. Eventually down the road I’ll probably have one fabbed to spec.
I don’t, they’re just filler blanks to where you could mount lights. I like the idea of putting them behind the mesh but I don’t think they’d mount correctly or provide nearly enough light. We’ll see when I make that purchase in the next coming months.
More shots of the bumper, but mainly showcasing the new badges and the addition and swift removal of a rather tacky murdered out trailboss logo. She’s gonna be barren until I find the right match unfortunately but still looks clean. Shorty antenna gets in tomorrow as well!
Last couple weekends away, finally having time to sit down and post some stuff.
GWNF again with some friends, hammocking solo on the Potomac, and Shenandoah with the Wife.
While I do drive those long interstate hours with little hassle, I would MUCH rather have driven 200 miles in 16 hours on sketchy and bumpy roads than 1000 miles over flat crowded highway. I don’t know if I’m weird for not being one for modern day luxuries, but the escape is apart of the journey...
It depends on my destination and route. If it’s within a days reach for normal highway travel but I can take a more scenic route I’ll tack an extra 2-3 hours on a 4-5 hour trip. If I have to be somewhere fast for the most experience in that place, I’ll drive like a bat out of hell for upwards of...
