    New from Oklahoma

I did the entire Colorado BDR in my stock Ram 1500. Stock (or as close to stock as possible) is the best way to go for overland travel. #unpopularopinion

Where did you install your OB emblem?

    Finally put mine on today.

    Hello from Nebraska!

It depends on where you are in NE. I know a lot of people come down to Tuttle Creek Reservoir just north of Manhattan KS.

    iOS location issue?

Yeah it sucks. You use the app and unless you force close it, it’s just basically a battery/data drain.

What Did You Do With Your Rig Today?

Finally got some drawers installed. I wish I would have done this years ago. Only downside is that I’m not sure my fridge will open enough for easier access. Oh, well. I think I’d rather move it to the cab anyway.

    Essential Solo Overland Recovery Gear

I wouldn’t say most versatile, but it’s the one that most likely to help you get out of most situations if you are by yourself. It’s not going to work for every situation. It’s still susceptible to mechanical/electrical failure too. Like I said, always have a back up plan.

    Essential Solo Overland Recovery Gear

I’d probably go with a quality winch, a few pulleys, a land anchor, shovel, and multiple recovery points. Edit: even with that list, you are committed with the winch. If it fails, you need a backup plan. So traction mats, hi-lift, come-along, etc.

    Rambox or No Rambox

Initially I thought I'd like the Ramboxes, but realized I couldn't use a tonneau cover or topper. With a set of Decked drawers, I don't lose that much bed-space and I still keep everything dry with a topper. The Ramboxes ultimately would have limited me too much. My storage solutions have...

    iOS location issue?

The location arrow still shows a blue background behind the location arrow in the top left of the screen when getting out of the app. I have location services set to "while using the app"). The only way the blue background goes away is to actually force close the app or setting location services...

    Recovery Boards

They are. I know their manufacturing was really impacted but he was starting to get everything back up and running.

    OB Watches

That was my biggest complaint with that watch. My fitbit goes for almost a week between charges.

    OB Watches

I really don't see me ever going back to a traditional watch. I've had an Apple watch, Samsung Galaxy, and several fitbits. While I liked the Apple Watch, I couldn't rationalize the cost. Right now I'm using a fitbit Versa 2. I does pretty much everything I used the other watches for but for...

    Traction Board Review

Inferior plastics/polymers become brittle in cold weather and more pliable in heat. This makes sense why the cheaper boards don't fare well in cold climates.

Where did you install your OB emblem?

It's still sitting on my workbench.

Plates and bowls, let's overthink this together

I've been using GSI Cascadian plates and bowls for years. BPA free and inexpensive. They are the exception to the "pick 2" rule I'd give customers when I worked at a backpacking/mountaineering store. Lightweight Inexpensive Durable Pick 2 because you can't have all 3.
