Nemo, beyond the tunnel (Wartburg TN)

Debating on hitting this location next weekend with the wife and kids. We will most likely get a place to rent and camp a night (kids are 16 mos and 2yo). As far as the vehicle trails, would I be safe going solo (with necessary tools) in the vehicle, currently stock, or should I wait until next...

I’m down for this, as well.

Interested. Also, coming down from KY.

    Social Distancing In Style!

I had to get out this past weekend, myself. Just a short 70 mile run on the SxS through the mountains. The closest I got to another individual was maybe 150 yards. It was nice to enjoy the weather and see the trees start to turn green. (Barbourville, KY - Old gas, mining, oil, and fire roads)

    Working on the Trail

I did see that Verizon has a “global” jet pack that gets signal from satellite to my understanding. I’ll have to do a bit more reading up on it, but it’s service seems reasonably priced. Be nice if XM would get on the comms path and adapt a in car option. You can listen to Howard Stern in BFE...

    Working on the Trail

This looks interesting as well. https://www.globalstar.com/en-us/products/personnel-safety/sat-fi2 I'll have to do a bit more research. Flat price, vs monthly subscription. Not a fan of subscriptions.

    Working on the Trail

Just some initial research and questioning, and I found this. It does work with the built in wi-fi unit. and is expandable for future 5G networks. Now the pain of sending $500 out the door... It won't be today. weBoost Drive Reach Cell Phone Signal Booster | 470154

    Working on the Trail

I will definitely check this out, and if it is able to boost the truck's built in signal, that would be a huge plus.

    Working on the Trail

So, I rarely get "vacation" where I can get a week's worth of days with no responsibility to answer calls/emails. Further, sometimes I just like to slip off into the woods, but still be available. I was curious what methods some of my fellow OBers use when on the trial to accomplish those pesky...

Nissan FS vs Toyota FS why is Toyota preferred?

ECO DIESEL - I knew better than that. I would not purchase a small diesel from the US, or certain foreign countries, they just can't get them right. The Colorado ZR2 has issues with it's little duramax. I got the hemi. Tried and true, been around for a LONG time. Truth is, we can sit here and...

Nissan FS vs Toyota FS why is Toyota preferred?

This is my 1st Chrysler vehicle, period (unless you call the '94 3000gt VR4 (Dodge Stealth RT/TT) one, it died with 377k miles on the original block, and abused beyond belief). I haven't had any issues, yet... but only 2500 miles on the clock . Again, the Xterra, 4runner, tacoma, etc. I...

Nissan FS vs Toyota FS why is Toyota preferred?

Rebel has even better than standard in my opinion. Just rolls with the concept of the truck.

Nissan FS vs Toyota FS why is Toyota preferred?

I’m 6’5”. The Tacoma is a great truck and, sure, I fit. But if I drive KY to UT or something, I’ll be like the tin man in the rain trying to get out. That’s my only complaint, trip longevity. Short trips, I’d have one in a split second. It’s not just Tacoma, but all the smaller trucks... FS it...

Nissan FS vs Toyota FS why is Toyota preferred?

So, your dilemma was similar to my dilemma. I just got my '20 Ram Rebel February 15th. I was torn between that and the Tundra TRD Pro. Both were nearly identically priced, but what set me on the Rebel was after I went and physically drove both vehicles. The Tundra TRD Pro is nothing like the...

How has the Covid-19 virus affected your adventures?

Meanwhile in KY... “Beshear said boat ramps, campgrounds, fishing lakes, marinas, etc. will not have to close as long as they can operate following CDC social distancing guidelines.” I believe I can get lost in the woods and practice this, just fine.

How has the Covid-19 virus affected your adventures?

That is why i have a box of Spider rubber gloves (medical grade) in my truck... peel them off, and hit the sanitizer pump before i get back in my truck. Put them in when it started to hit the west coast. Little things that seem overboard, end up being huge in the long run. Take clothes off and...

Took the family to the Red River Gorge area (Indian Creek, NAPA tunnel) yesterday for some light trail running. Stopped off by Indian Creek, and had a picnic. Best form of social distancing I could think of. It completed a good weekend.

2020 Spring Run Kentucky Adventure Trail

I am slightly anal about that, so a machete, axe, and small chainsaw stay with me. Even in the old rig. Take a little time and make it better for everyone. I don’t cut down trees or blaze new trails, but keep the ones I run nice and clean (as much as possible and within the areas laws).

2020 Spring Run Kentucky Adventure Trail

Newer Member. I would like to get in on this. My rig is stock currently, (Ram Rebel '20) . I won't be beating it to death but rather being a Diva, as it hasn't quite tipped 2k miles. If it'd be better not to attend, speak now, I don't want to be a burden. Otherwise, I will plan on being there...
