You can possibly have your existing alternator rebuilt to a higher amperage. I had my 6.0 125amp alternator rebuilt to 180 at my local alternator shop and it does great.

I've been using the Viair 400P for three years with no hiccups. Good thing is you can take it from vehicle to vehicle.
