If you’re interested, I can do a class on camp cooking at one of these meetings. I’m an outfitter by trade, and camp cooking is a bit of a passion of mine
I wish I had those skills! I’m a leather worker and durable goods maker. I can make bags for the racks, but something tells me a leather rack wouldn’t work too well... hahaha
I’ve been hunting for a roof rack for my Jeep JLU to no end because I have the soft top. Gobi makes one to the tune of $2K, with no real idea of how long I’ll be waiting, but it seems that over the last year SOMEONE would have stepped in by now. I can’t seem to find a single one! Does anyone...
Meet and greet is about all you can do here in CT. Off-roading is illegal in the state unless it’s on private lands. It’s a dismal scene here. If we did organize any trips, they’d have to be out of state. Definitely possible though to convoy! Let me know how I can help!
Most of it was actually humping in the infantry...haha. I was able to do some of the AT in New York however before things got too bad. A lot of day hiking or overnights in CT here and there as well
Connecticut is a barren wasteland when it comes to off-roading. I’ve been searching and found a bunch of trails and roads in the Pine Barrens in NJ, with camping to boot. I may end up headed there this summer.
