I am in the process of doing a very similar set up right now. I have been amazed at the material costs. I am $800 deep just in material and looking at what you've done yours is probably even higher. There is definitely a reason a good drawer system cost so much.
Wilco Off-road HitchGate, can fit any vehicle, but I used on a 5th generation Toyota 4Runner. Fit's 2.5 inch hitch. No wobble at all with Wilco's wedge hitch. I used to carry a 33 inch tire and two Jerry Cans. Includes;
- Hitch gate
- Two Jerry Can holders
- Bottle opener
- Lighted license...
Do you have any photos of what's inside the tent area, or can you describe it? The photo shows a bedroom? Is there a sealed area for sleeping? Bring your own mattress/pad? Thanks.
I have a Dometic CFX 50, 18 months old, used for one month trip, with insulating pad I was going to list for $900OBO. I am in the Inland Empire. I was about to post today or tomorrow, you have 24 hours advance notice.
I have one, no wobble. I also had the bike mount issue...I've been thinking about how to get around it while keeping the hitchgate. Oddly enough I could buy a roof rack mount for the jerry cans, and put the spare back under the 4runner with the tire deflated (I have air), but the thing that...
I am interested, but I'm in the same boat as many others in that I am not close to you. I am planning on driving through in the next two months, but I'm not sure when. If it's still available when I come through I will reach out to you.
I have a driver's side Rhino Rack Bat Wing I would sell. Practically new in box. I installed, half way opened it up in my front yard, drove around for a month, took it off and it's been in the garage since. I hadn't started a thread to sell because I've been going back and forth about it...
Tuning in to see how this turns out for sure as DV is one of my favorite spots. To me, the desolation is the best part, along with few people (off the beaten path anyway). Aside from potential environmental damage, just bringing more activity to the park would be bad IMO. I just hope it...
Incredible pics.
I'm heading up to Laurel Lakes for a few nights this Sunday into next week. I'm even more excited now. Any concern (safety) with just hopping into the hot springs?
Sign me up as a first timer who was impressed by the experience.
To the cell service question. I am a Verizon user. In the area for campers, little to no service (though I did learn in one of the classes what equipment to buy to get service in the area I'm speaking of). In the expo area...
One note on the 1.0 vs 2.0. I was told by a US distributor the changes to the 2.0 were made incrementally to the 1.0. To the point, the 1.0 to the 2.0 in some cases is just about identical depending on when you bought it. The only two changes I think that aren't on at least some models of the...
