Found a deal on some USA standard ring and pinions. I got the rear in last week, the front is still disassembled while I try to find some time before/after work to get to it.
Beer is always an acceptable reward! Cool story man. I always rest easy after helping somebody too. There’s always an overwhelming peace even if “no good deed goes unpunished” it still never seems that bad.
I’ve been making some changes recently. I added a Cobra 75WXT CB radio and 3ft Firestick II antenna on a Rago Fabrications mount a month or so ago and the reception is great and sound is clear. More recently I threw a Lock Right lunchbox locker in the rear end to up my trail capabilities. Since...
I was camping a few weeks back in the North Georgia mountains. The place I like to go is a spot by the river off of a Chattahoochee National Forest service road. I was taking the 2-hour trail out to go to town and get a few things when I came across a jeep stopped in the middle of a creek...
Thanks! After several weeks I am still enjoying it and have received many complements. We don’t see anything but hard shell campers around here, so it sticks out like a sore thumb...in a good way!
From what I understand its semi closed. There is houses on the Helen side of the road so its open but they are trying to keep it from being overridden by off roaders. The Unicoi side I think may still have a road closed sign but it hasnt been moved back in weeks.
I’ll definitely be sure to look you up. Yeah I wish overlanding payed better, but it makes me appreciate the time I do get to explore even more. Unfortunately being so far on the east coast I pretty much will have to take 2 weeks any time I want to get out that way. I have not done it in my...
That’s awesome man! Yeah my dad always taught me to that if you go slow and easy you might make it home. I am trying to plan out and take a couple weeks off work this spring to go out to Utah, Colorado and Wyoming to ride some trails. I went on a normal road trip this past March with a couple...
So after waiting anxiously for a week the Softopper was delivered this afternoon and I installed it immediately as I could barely contain my excitement. It looks AWESOME and I cant wait to put it to use. The canvas is incredibly thick and feels like it will last for a long time. The weak link on...
Depends on if I've been in the area before or not and how many days I'm traveling! I definitely try to get the basics set up before dark... tent, fire built, kitchen set up. Cooking in the moonlight doesnt bother me as much and if that's the case I keep it real simple. I normally try to start...
I am embarrassed to admit that I installed "rock lights" on my truck and went about it the complete wrong way...
I bought a $50 RGB underglow kit that was essentially 4 plastic tubes with RGB LED's in them and a controller. There wasnt a good place to mount them on the pinch weld like was...
Hey y'all just wanted to hear what are some of peoples most memorable trail that they have run and some reason's why! I'm always curious to see what makes people like or dislike trails because everybody's preferences can vary so much.
My most memorable trail is Charlie's Creek Rd near Clayton...
I am planning on going to the expo as well but I live due south of Asheville so and will be on time constraints I wont have time to wander on the way there but I am hoping to find a trail while I am there at the Expo.
I am going to run the whole Georgia Traverse over a 4-5 day weekend hopefully in mid-October so I should pass back through Tray/Chimney as well as take a detour to run Beasley’s Knob. I can come back and comment on the state of the trail. Glad to hear the culvert is much safer. My girlfriend at...
Yes, Tray Mountain is in the worst shape I have ever seen it when I was on it in March. The spot by the culvert was very interesting to get up even with 4Lo and 33" KM2's. I am hoping the trail "heals" soon it is one of my favorites in the state.
Here in Georgia I work around the weather. Since I have two loves, the mountains and the lake I split my weekends between the two based on temperatures. From May to September I spend any free weekend at the lake wakeboarding and riding jet skis. Between mid-September and early May is when I go...
Hey Casey! The mountain trails down here are cool but there’s just not near as many of them as there is out west. My buddies and I are in the process of planning a 2 or 3week rig trip to drive out around Utah, Colorado, Wyoming etc and ride trails and camp in some cool areas. My upgrades always...
