I am looking forward to seeing what people think of the pre-order "Revel Light™".

What is your favorite nonessential rig add-on?

No complaints. I need to see how it works in the wild. It rolls so, so smooth though. One thing I would remind everyone is that you sacrifice storage volume for storage convenience when you use a drawer system. I likely would not have considered drawers if I did not have a full size pickup...

What is your favorite nonessential rig add-on?

My Decked drawer system. I haven't used it yet since I just got it installed, but it is loaded up. Hiking gear in the left drawer (with room to spare for whatever) an camp kitchen in the right one.

Except in late summer. You can keep your 106 degree days.

Welcome. I envy your location. So many places in every direction. I really like the Trinity river out there.

Bay Area New Years off the grid?

Enter the national forest at Sonora. Take the road to Crandall OHV area. Take the forest road to 38.17796, -120.12311. That is my spot. Perfect clearing, right off the forest road. Here is the gpx file for my favorite little clearing:

Bay Area New Years off the grid?

What is "near" in your book? Hard to get off the grid in the bay area. Dunno what the snow situation is in Stanislaus National Forest, but you shouldnt need to head too far up in elevation to start hitting some forest roads and get off the grid.

Topper for my Roof Top Tent

I am putting in a decked system on the 8th. As far as parking lots go, I wont enter if under 9' clearance. Check out my Tundra build thread if you are interested. https://www.overlandbound.com/forums/threads/2013-toyota-tundra-starting-june-10-2018.15511/

Topper for my Roof Top Tent

The company that did my shell, Mobile Living in Concord, CA, said they could do custom reinforcement with a rack-like setup inside the shell if I wanted.

Topper for my Roof Top Tent

I was super skeptical about the shell. I probably drove the dealer crazy with all my questions, calls, math, etc... I have done a lot of business with them now and I am glad I trusted them. It has been on there for several months and 6+ camping trips and I couldn't be happier.
