I just got a 400P Auto as well, did you ever find a good container for it? just curious as I'm not a huge fan of the Meltable Nylon bag either, I'd rather be able to put it away quickly after use.
Yesterday I pulled down the headliner to run to wires for the rear view channel on my dash cam, and I finished wiring the switch for my inner hood lights. Today was the best so far...
I MADE THE FINAL PAYMENT, IT'S MY TRUCK NOW!
Prepping for upkeep, picked up a cabin air filter, a new air filter and some factory touch up paint. Next up is a washing! Not all that exciting, but I'm focusing on paying it off before I spend money on upgrades, I'd rather own it before I upgrade it!
I named my truck "Pamela" as it was beach patrol before I got it. It was a fun mystery to figure out, but it was totally confirmed with the amout of sand I had to vacuum out from under the carpet. The attached pictue by bumper number appears to be my exact truck!
My camp kitchen is in transition, I have a open bed tacoma that is also my Daily Driver, so drawers just aren't fitting in my plans either.
Right now I just have everything in a small action packer, but I am seriously looking to aquire a coleman classic propane 2 burner stove an...
K6ZWC My Father (K6ZWB) got his first ham licence in 1957 in highschool and some of his friends did as well. One of them was killed in a vehicle collision before I was born, I was named after him, and when Vanity callsigns became a thing my father was adamant that no one else should have his...
Just finishedthis working Prototype of an Antenna Mount I have had in my head, Passenger side is for the CB and I'm making a mirror image for Drivers side for my Ham 2M/440 Antenna.
The biggest single gain you will see with a handheld in a vehicle is if you hook it to a roof mounted antenna (Even a good Mag mounted 2M will work well for this) and not use the "Rubber Duck" antenna on the HT. 5W with a decent antenna can go a LONG WAY.
Thanks much, that sounds like that is exactly the Radio I am looking for.
Strangely enough I had the opposite happen with My XJ they stole the remote head unit for the IC706MK2G, I was so glad they left the actual radio it was safely tucked away behind a steel grate all the way in he back of the...
How do you like that Yaesu R7900, thinking that may be the new rig for my truck based on features and specs, but I'd be interested to hear real world opinions on it. I was thinking mounting the radio under the passenger seat and using remote faceplate and speaker in a more user friendly...

Yes Saturday, we still plan to be there. I'm still recovering from knee surgery on Thursday so no adventures until I'm all healed.
