    Heading to Death Valley Tomorrow

I was just there a couple of days ago. With the shutdown, Furnace Creek was closed, but Stovepipe Wells was open (and free). Things may change if it drags on further and developed camps may close. There are some great dispersed sites in the North of Mojave that are private and flat, if you are...

    Members traveling in Iceland

If there are any members traveling in Iceland this week, I will be working Search and Rescue out of Skaftafell National Park. Stop by if you need anything. Hopefully, we don’t meet any other way ;)

2017 Tacoma TRD and AT Habitat Buildout

Finished my build (for the moment). I added in a sliding pantry cabinet, a storage box for stove and cooking items, and mounted a Yeti Tundra 50. Good to go.

I actually used two cutting boards. I was able to find one large enough in HDPE, but not wood. I cut the two to size and glued them together. I mounted one of the end cuts as a backsplash. I couldn’t find a sink I liked, so I bought a stainless serving container from a restaurant supply store...

    First aid kit advice?

I would second, third and whatever else, the sentiment that it is really about training over "stuff". There are some great things out there, but without the proper training, they are pretty useless. At the very least, I would recommend that anyone going off the beaten path have AHA or Red Cross...

2017 Tacoma TRD and AT Habitat Buildout

New member, but wanted to share my build (in progress). The base is a 2017 Tacoma TRD Off-Road. I have added: a second battery (using the Off-Grid Engineering battery holder and a National Luna charge system) a Switch-Pros 8100 Smart Switching System with the SDHQ OEM panel replacement CBI...
