lots of good points guys.. and yeah as you say the tank is not really needed. The only things I need air for apart from tyres are a solar shower that runs on about 30psi and diff lockers.. but not got those fitted yet!
What I do have that needs air can easily be supplied by a stand alone compressor
hiya folks, iv been weighing up the options of air compressors.
I know the majority go with the ARB compressor, unfortunately the budget won’t stretch to that luxury and as here in the uk ‘airing down’ is quite a rare occurrence I can’t justify the cost for how much it will be used.
My options...
Been wondering the same thing myself pal, came across a thread on Facebook the other day about these.. mixed bag really!
People saying they are a hazard and have burst into flames, noisey and poor output. Others saying they’ve had them fitted a while and they’ve been great.
It’s always the same...
Thanks for the great reply Nick, some good and useful information in there.
I do quite a bit of green laning with a local club and I am well against ‘off piste’ driving. There are to many lanes being closed recently due to idiots disrespecting them in there scrap value 4x4’s :(
Lanes iv always...
Hi folks, anyone out there with an OzTent know if there is an attachment for a mini wood burner?. Would basically be an attachment for the roof or sidewall to allow a chimney/exhaust to pass through?
This is a pic I came across on google but this is the general idea
Yeah I get what you mean exactly and that’s just what iv found.. you’ll not get a fully off grid experience for more than a day or so!
But then again after reading a few posts in a different thread the aspect of ‘wild camping’ can be altered a little by using CL campsites, more like the back...
Hey folks, question for you lot.. what Overlanding trips have people done in the uk?
How long have you spent totally off grid, away from civilisation, just you and your truck?
I’m asking because I want to plan something for next year for a few days. As our tiny island doesn’t have the expanse...
Since I bought the Disco I’d been speaking to a few guys on Facebook about green laning (off roading to the rest of the world) and was planning my first trip out into the hills of derbyshire.
I was quite apprehensive about this as I’d littlerally done nothing to the chassis and running gear...
I’m not far from there.. my brother actually lives in Sutton which is SE Macclesfield, lovely part of the world but didn’t know there was a scout group round there? I’ll have to let him know for his lads
It’s been on nearly a year now and still perfectly fine, it actually deadens the external noise quite a bit too compared to what was there..
there’s lots more iv already done so just writing it up here to get to a point I’m at now.. still lots to do but it’s all good fun :)
Yeah it was horrendous pal, couldn’t believe the previous owner was still driving it the way it was... oh and it’s not red anymore, but that’s a story for another day ;)
So, after a pleasant drive home in my new toy I’d decided that the first thing I had to do was sort the interior out..
It was comparable to the chimp enclosure at the zoo, bits hanging down, bits hanging off, it smelt of wet dog and I even found a small family of fungus behind the headlining...
Hiya folks, since I’m new here I thought it would only be right to give a little insight into how iv come to be part of the 4x4/Overland world.
My weapon of choice is a 1994 series 1, 3 door Land Rover Discovery. It was bought on a whim really when my previous car was written off by a lovely...
That looks like an awesome camp buddy :) bet the kids loved it!..
Really like the idea of that camp oven, very ingenious. Where abouts were you? I’m thinking Wales by the look of the pics and the rain :tearsofjoy:
Yeah I have this problem.. my whole truck is raptor lined so hopefully they will stick well to it. If not I’ll just use sikaflex.. it won’t come off then :tearsofjoy:
Yeah iv got a young lad that is the best thing in the world and takes most of my time and spare cash!
Would love a 130.. best landy for Overlanding in my opinion. What you got planned for 2020? Iv been looking at tours through the Pyrenees and Morocco but I don’t think that will happen next...
