Poll: Matching trailer tire size to vehicle tire size

My original offroad teardrop trailer build included 31" with 5x4.5 lug spacing tires trailer tires. I got a lot of comments on the size of the tires. The problem for me is that the Jeep has 35" tires with 5x5.5 lug spacing. It was always a hassle lugging two spares around. I finally swapped...

Heads up if you go larger tires

Just a heads up if you change tire size. Changing the tire size will change your speedo reading. You might get a speeding ticket when you think your are on the speed limit. Just in case, grab your GPS and have it give you a speed reading and correlate it to your speedo. In many vehicles you...

I just got settled in Prescott Arizona and want to start getting out and doing Arizona and possibly southern Utah excursions. I get a three day weekend every other weekend. I like to pull my trailer and can drop it at a base camp to explore or if it is a moderate trail, pull it along. I am...

So far from spring. Forecast 2-4 feet of snow.

I am busy repairing a bad centering ball on my front driveshaft to get ready for a big snow storm.. They are forecasting two to four feet of snow in the next 48 hours. The only people I trust less than politicians are weather forecasters. I figure we might get 10 inches. I will be ready...

Anybody else out there do their own body work and paint their vehicles themselves?

I have been modifying and building hot rods and off road vehicles for 50 years. One of my passions is keeping a 35 year old vehicle in like new conditions. That gets a bit hard when I have flipped and flopped it a few times. It has never been garaged so the cheap automotive paint rarely...

    Resolved Problem with signature

Some time ago the forum changed something to do with signatures and their content. For several years I had a pix of my rig in my signature. It was small and not over obtrusive. I also had a link for both my Offroad teardrop build thread and my Vehicle build thread. It seems I can no longer...

Resolved Need to be able to clear RSVPs for Rally Points

I have noticed on recurring Rally Points, the RSVPs do not reset for new iterations of the occurrence of an event. This leads to maxing out the number of RSVPs available and users getting an error message about the max RSVPs being exceeded. There needs to be a way to clear/reset the counter.

Resolved Problem with messaging to member

I wanted to not clutter the forum with some information for a member roam_co85 and was plagued with an error message that the message has to be less than 420 characters. I think the message is wrong. It appears that you are limited to around 128 characters. This makes it a pain to do any...

    Who camps with kids?

After doing an OB outing, I was surprised the number of young kids. I think there were 15 kids under 12. I enjoyed them but is that normal. How about everybody chime in and say where they are from and if they camp with young kids and how many.

Colorado road updates due to severe winter

I hate to break the bad news but the snowpack this year is record breaking. On over the whole state of Colorado, we are at 193% of average and the San Juan's (southwest Colorado) are at 302%. Current reports are that the road from Silverton to Animus Forks (part of the Alpine Loop) may not...

    EchoLink for Dummies Questions/Answers

I am a new Ham, but in no way new to radio and communications. I have been designing spread spectrum radios for commercial and military use for years. Getting the Ham license was a breeze because the technical stuff is what I do all day. I have used EchoLink over the web and my cell phone...
