    LED headlamps for 98 TJ

Truck-Lite LED headlights for the past couple of years on my 04 TJ. Adjusted so as to not blind oncoming traffic. Installed after almost tagging a free range cow while on the way to the Canyonlands. Expensive but cheaper than trying to push a cow with my bumper.

US Southeast Couple of days in the Ouachitas in the CJ5.

Very nice, out camping with the Jeep.

    Rotopax on roof rack??

I carry 2 Rotopax 2g cans on my TJ’s spare tire using a modified EVO JK spare tire mount bracket. I do similar, as soon as the fuel tank allows, I empty both cans into the tank.

Are my wheels and tires big enough to off-road!?

Drove a stock ‘17 TRDOR (did install RCI Rock Sliders before the trip) around the Canyonlands Maze District and the Needles Colorado River Overlook trail, no issues (except when slipped off a rock next to a wall rock but the rock sliders paid for themselves preventing body damage!). Earlier this...

    Jeep TJ

I discovered my 2004 Rubicon was wired for the temp/compass rear view mirror. All o had to do was buy the temp sensor (mounts between the radiator & grill, driver’s side) and a compatible mirror w/wiring harness (Amazon). The temp sensor plugs into its respective harness in the front. I had to...

    Jeep TJ

I built simple wood racks to make storage and accessing heavier items such as water/tools/recovery gear easier. I glued outdoor carpet (similar to the interior color) to all surfaces and bolted on D-rings to secure items (not pictured):

To carry these supported by a Morryde tailgate reinforcement (upper mount connects to the rollbar mount and the bottom is bolted to a backing plate):

    Jeep TJ

We’ll said tjZ06, almost like backpack camping. And yes, the TJ is a very capable off-road machine. The Cooper Discoverer ATP 265/75R16 tires (~32”) and 2” lift have taken me all over Canyonlands Maze & Needles (Elephant Hill exiting several days later via Bobby’s Hole) Districts. A tad more...

    Jeep TJ

I went thru several reiterations with my TJ. First couple of week long trips, I way overpacked (bump stops - check!). Plus, I added a swing out tire carrier - a negative wrt to an extra 100# of steel (just the carrier, not including fuel cans & spare) hanging on the rear bumper. Figure out what...

    Gazelle Tents

Very nice. I’m back to using my ‘04 TJ for my trips (my wife “acquired” the Tacoma for her work after the regear). A Gazelle T3 and a Clam 4-sided screened shelter (during the buggy months) fit perfectly across the back of the Jeep. If you drive in mountainous areas, I recommend 4.88 gears if on...

What Did You Do With Your Rig Today?

The regear was on my (wife stole…um…uses the Tacoma more as of recently for her work) Tacoma. My ‘04 TJ Rubicon has 4.10s on 265/75R16 tires. Same with rpms climbing local passes/mountains if trying to maintain 65 mph. Plan is to go a size up to a 285 or 33 tire. Thought process is the next size...

What Did You Do With Your Rig Today?

RPM is a tad/skosh higher but the truck remains in the higher gears longer and still pulls going up hills. Driving up one of the local passes, truck used to downshift and rev up to 5k rpm to maintain 65 mph. Now it doesn’t downshift as far and hasn’t revved higher than 3.5k. Much more...

What Did You Do With Your Rig Today?

Installed Nitro 4.88 gears in my ‘17 Tacoma TRD Off-Road. This is how the truck should’ve arrived from the factory. Much better driving qualities/transmission shifting when cruising the hills/mountains of New Mexico. 265 75R16 tires. For those in New Mexico/El Paso area, we had the install...

    New Mexico Overlanders

Upgraded our Tacoma TRD Off-Road with 4.88 gears from Nitro. Holy comoly, this is how the Tacoma should’ve arrived from the factory. Much better driving/auto trans performance on hilly/mountainous climbs (w/o downshifting the rpm up to 5k). 265 75/16 tires. We took our truck to Southwest...

    Rock Hard 4X4

Front & rear bumpers plus tube sliders on my TJ. Fit and have held up well, no issues with the install.

    Tire Opinions

Cooper Discovery ATP LT265/75R16 on my TJ. Great tire on/off road around the southwest.

    2001 TJ Wrangler's new life.

Bingo. Determine how you plan to use your vehicle and mod/upgrade accordingly. Removing that 100# of weight from the rear bumper pivot from my TJ was a step in the right direction. OME med/hvy duty rear springs helped the ride too.

    2001 TJ Wrangler's new life.

Another TJ overland rig, nice! Those rims with the pinstripes look awesome. I went full circle with the rear tire carrier. I installed front and rear (with swing out tire/dual jerry can carrier) Hard Rock 4x4 bumpers. I replaced the rear swing out with a Morryde Tailgate reinforcement kit...
