    Solar panel

Buy a kill a watt meter for $12. Plug in fridge, run in car in sun at same temperature for 24 hrs, get actual reading. All else flows from that. 60 watt an hour? Thats 1440 Watt-hrs a day. A 100W panel will give maaayyybe 70w for 5 hrs a day, 350W. Leaving 1090 to be made up. A 100Ah 12v...

Looking for recommendations - Roll up kitchen utensil storage

Look at tool roll ups, they have more individual pockets and more options. I mean like wrench tools. Sturdier too.

    Aux battery

Kenny, I do not believe KS is correct about lithium and LiTime going to -4f for charging. That number is the limit for DISCHARGING from all the batteries I have seen. @KS_Explorer , can you provide a link to the spec sheets for LiTime showing a CHARGE capability to -4f? I don't think you are...

    Wiring Advice needed.

12v cigarette port will do 10A, maybe 12A, so 120-144 Watts. If that will run your ham setup, great, do it. You need to figure out ham power needs.

Electrical system w/ 120v inverter diy?

@Caribbean-snowfox I agree w @K12 . Stick with a brand to work together best. Redarc is very good, as is victron. They both have a combo dcdc charger plus mppt SCC, to replace the Renogy one in this setup below. Here is Wills schematic for a small mobile system with alternator charging...

Electrical system w/ 120v inverter diy?

Oh, and here is the minimalist system that might work for you if your needs are actually as low as you hinted: https://www.mobile-solarpower.com/the-minimalist-great-for-small-vans-and-cars.html

Electrical system w/ 120v inverter diy?

Here. Read this basic primer on a basic system. https://www.mobile-solarpower.com/the-classic-400-watt-rvs-vans-buses.html Redarc is good, but very expensive. Batteries are almost a commodity now. That same site I just gave, Will Prowse, tears down and reviews Batteries all the time, and he...

    Charging setup for e-bike

See my answer at ExpeditionPortal post. All looks decent except your jeep is 12v, your battery is 12v, you need a victron 12 12 30 non isolated, not a 24 24. Also, the 600w inverter is super wimpy, but ok size for just 100Ah 12v battery, if thats all the ac you need.

What do fridge owners do in bear country?

This is another good reason to not have a pickup with exposed bed, rack and rooftop tent. I like the shell much better like an Alu-Cab, for security and this sort of thing.

adaptor for JetBoil halfgen from propane tank to match Coleman grill

This guide is great, downloaded it, thx. However, this clearly explains why Dan Grec from The Road Chose Me, is so against using propane for international travel. He says refilling and acquisition and hookup is terrible going through African countries, each has it's own propane valves and you...

Portable power station to power trailer systems??

Good ones do 30A dc. Most do 10 to 15A though. Here, read my thread on good power starions, the ones I pick have the best dc output. https://forum.expeditionportal.com/threads/good-solar-gen-power-stations-for-dc-and-light-ac-truck-campers.242227/

    Poi’s suggestion

"Overload map"... just provide a filter for icons, like a list of checkboxes. Like ioverlaner has. Want to see camp spots? Click tent box. Want to see grocery also, check the cart box. Basic map display interface.

12 volt lunch box oven - Recipies and how do you like it or not?

Nomad, many of the Australian overlander youtubers use them. Ronny Dahl had a few meals cooked in one. Lot of truckers use them, they sell them at all the truck stops. You could google trucker forums and find more info.

    12V Power Box Review (ports/distribution)

No idea what your 2 word question means. Since I said supply watts above, I'll reiterate that. Many times ports you purchase do not actually supply the watts they are rated for. Due to small internal wires, weak connections, whatever. Car cigarette ports especially, they are a 12-14V device...

    12V Power Box Review (ports/distribution)

I bought this 12v power box with 11 ports, tested the ports and did a review. This might be a good all in one dc port solution for folks that want to just hook up an inexpensive 12v LiFePO4 lithium battery and run all their dc camper stuff. Plenty of ports for fan, lights, heater, blanket...

    Truck topper

An ARE or Leer is $3000, then when you add a decent window about $3400. Then you have a camper shell, which like everyone else, you will hate and sell cheap in a few years. You can't get to anything, can't stand up, etc. Do your Dad a favor and point him to a popup or wedge truck camper...

Video of wire sizing for 2nd battery alternator charging

4awg is even better, and for a 20ft run, 40ft circuit, the right choice, nice! Good idea on video, fuse sizing is easy to mess up. In meantime, here is a general ruleset: 1. Size the wire to be able to carry the max possible amps your load could demand continuously. 2. Put a fuse or circuit...
