I was looking at the Lifetime tables as well and wanted to try and mount one between the roof rack and the Jeep top, but there is not enough space between them. Maybe if I did not fold it in half it might fit, but then the large size becomes an issue.
Thanks for the reply Gary. I actually checked out the smaller version of that same table, the 20, last night at REI. I was not really that impressed with it. Opening and closing it seemed like it involved a lot of flipping it around and one side of the legs did not want to lock very well...
Cool. I had given skateboard bearings for some slides I've been thinking about. I've also been thinking about the bottom mount bearings as well. My work has some at the security checkpoint for sliding bags over after being x-rayed. I've not tried to sources them yet, so have not clue on the...
Of course I'll end up packing something for both of these, but which one do you find more essential for backcountry overland style camping? I have a $100 gift card from work to REI and would like to invest this into either the cook set or table. So which would you pick and why? Feel free to...
More great info, thanks! I'm thinking I'll push Day 3 a bit more and camp down Echo Canyon. That should get us better suited to explore that area of the park more. I've also marked Beveridge Canyon as a camping spot if Day 2 takes longer then we want it too. There is also an unnamed road...
I'm interested in your response to this as well. The idea of going back to DV in maybe Oct with my father-in-law on a photography trip is already floating around in the back of my mind. lol
Thanks for the detailed reply, it's very helpful. I'll look into some of the canyon roads off of Saline Valley Road for a camping spot. I'd love to do Dantes View, but it will be closed during our visit :(
If I was to make the full planned Day 2 leg and have the short Day 3, do you have any...
Thanks. So far he is doing fine. I can't even really tell when I talk to him on the phone, but my step-mom says she notices day to day things sometimes. My main goal is to give him and my son time together. They have only been around each other a half dozen times of so :(
This past fall we bought a new place that has a really nice shop for me to work in and a buddy gave me an old welder. So I guess it is really just a matter of teaching myself how to weld and to weld good enough to trust it going down the trails! So practice time is what would probably be the...
This past summer my father broke the news that two years ago he was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. To this point the disease has not progressed very far and his only symptoms is perhaps a little more memory loss than he should have at his age. But knowing how quickly the disease could start...
