thanks for the info re: tuning the antenna. thankfully this is Communications for the Beginner because my next question proves that I'm a beginner. here goes......... how does one tune the antenna to the radio?

I'm definately the most Southern OB member in the UK. Currently only 20 miles from most Southern point of the UK

Yeah not just a historic idea but a tried and tested design. It's a fairly thick canvas which helps with heat retention.

Again I don't to appear that I'm trying to push Tentipi as a product but I am more than happy with my purchase. It provides me with everything I need in a tent. I'm hoping to buy the eldfel stove at some point in the future.

I think there is too much repetition throughout the forums so I don't want to add to it. I'll keep my eyes peeled for UK responses on here

Communications for the Beginner? I think i'm even more confused than before I started reading these threads. I would consider myself proper beginner. I've never used any form of Radio Communications other than the stuff I used when I was in the Navy. I have been considering CB for my Land...

Personally I use a Garmin GPS Map 62s. I bought it to replace my Garmin GPS Map 60 which became very temperamental with the use of its buttons and some of the features (including the compass) I feel the updated model isn't quite as user friendly as my earlier GPS but that is purely my opinion...

Very impressive. I joined Geocaching.com back in 2004 but I never really did anything about it. It was only a couple of years ago that I actually started to go out and find caches. We have no where near as many finds as yourself but we're enjoying going out whenever we have a spare moment...
