I have two and have used them for 10+ years. Awesome tents. Quick to set up, takes longer and is better with two people if you do the awnings and stuff but just the tent itself is super easy. They are heavy but not bad for me, the biggest issue is the 5 series is long when packed. Very nice...
I'm going to do my best to avoid any highways whose designation starts with an I on this trip. I'll leave Saturday morning and take mostly two lane roads to Stevenson.
I personally prefer Interstate made by Johnson Controls. I've replaced lots of batteries in customer's vehicles and have seen some Interstates that were years past what would be considered their lifespan and were still working. Exide batteries seem to be the worst as they always seem to leak...

I spent part of one summer at my grandparents gold claim near Central AK and can remember how big and ferocious the mosquitos were. You did your business in the outhouse very quickly. Definitely will need long sleeves and mosquito netting.
Your F150 should be able to make it as long as you're not worried about scratches and such. Skid plates, bigger mud tires, and good recovery points will help alot.
I'll probably plan on 2 weeks off so I can do some exploring on the way up and back.
I'll probably be in a pickup so would have room for gas cans. Not sure what the ferry regulations are for gas cans though if I take it from Bella Coola. Will have to look and see.
Definitely do it later in the season so hopefully you won't have as many trees to cut out of the way. Bring bug protection and some extra fuel. A week sounds about right. A fairly stock vehicle can do it depending on water crossing levels. I'm over near Spokane so a days travel time on each...
