Can’t be a “true” overlander without a drone, YouTube channel, a skottle, trasheroo, and endless talk about airing up/down. the vehicle doesn’t matter.

There’s a monthly meetup the first Saturday of the month at Old Settlers Park in Georgetown. Anywhere from 8-15 rigs show up each time.

@Downs has a good point about gain. The little bitty stub on the roof line directly above the rear wheel is my GMRS antenna. Going between hilltops I’ve had a solid conversation over a 10 mile distance. That antenna might be lucky to have unity gain.

I actually had to go open the app to satisfy my curiosity. Of course it had to update before it would open. You learn something new everyday.

Yes. The body is blocking the signal to and from the antenna down on the bumper.
