MaxTrax 4 mounting pin dimensions from the enclosed card: 270mm X 890mm
Please note" Manufacturing tolerances may effect these dimensions slightly, so please check these measurements against your MaxTrax before drilling. Measure twice, drill once!
@Veloun Thanks, and welcome to the Overland Bound forum. It was interesting to see my thoughts back then and what I've done since.

What's on my roof changed over the weekend. Off came the Load Warrior basket on the Thule crossbars, and on went the Prinsu rack. Same awning and lightbar, but I added the Road Shower and MaxTrax. I still have to mount the pins to lock them in place.
Ah! I see now. Early on, before the forum existed, badges were issued on the Overland Bound Facebook Page. If anyone wanted a special number, you could request it. For instance when I requested 0202, there were still a couple of 00xx badges available and several 01xx badge. As you can imagine...
Defenders are highly coveted in the US! But they were only sold here for a very short time, and used ones command astronomical prices. D90s in the $40-50k range, and 110s $75,000 and up!
Would we all love one? YES! Will we ever end up buying one? For most of us, that answer would be no...
There is not a specific schedule yet for the rest of the world. Getting the US regions up and running 9and in some cases adopting existing groups) has been exciting, a bit of trial and error, and a learning curve. Adding regions, Ambassadors, Facebook groups, etc. should get smoother and happen...
No, it is not US specific. And Yes, it will spread worldwide with patches and stickers down the road. Canada is already in the works, and Queensland AU is already up and running.
Regarding the Facebook Groups and missing out if you do not have a Facebook account: Every official event, meet, trip, etc. that the folks on the Facebook Groups organize will also have a post here on the forum in the Regional forums, and appear on the Member Calendar. Of course any "Hey, I'm...
Good information, thanks! In this photo, you can sorta see where the cross bars are located from the reflection under the side rails. There's 8" gap between each bar. I'd imagine that would provide plenty of support.
@Zargon I'll be curious as to how noisy that chicken coop decking is compared to without. Especially at highway speeds. I mounted the Prinsu rack this week, and I've considered those for decking material.
Okay this is the last batch of photos for a while. These have most of the gear in place, plus some overall vehicle shots. The MaxTrax aren't mounted yet, but that's where the pins will be located. I'm pleased with the layout, with plenty of room for storage on the rack. I need yo move the...
I put the ARB 2500 awning on the new PrinSu rack today. I was going to use spacers off of the side rails, but the cover rested on the paint. Instead, I used a pair of Foxwing awning brackets, which worked great. This will be easier to remove, too.
@IanC83 If you need a couch to crash on just west of Cleveland on your way through (either direction) let me know. I'm about 2 miles from an I-90 exit.
Enjoy your trip!
@DRW'S Hi-Yo-Silver Aside from price (this was about $750 or half of the K2 rack I was considering) you forgot the biggest negative of the Gobi for those of us in the north. It would be an unsightly pile of rust inside two years with road salt and pre-spray that's used to excess on the roads...
