I had this hella light laying around and only had one. I put it in the backside of my trail rack and wired it to a switch on the bass speaker cabinet. Makes a nice camp light!

I have been trying out different configurations of gear for next weekend. The rack adds a ton of room for me. I'm probably going to keep lighter stuff on it. I like having my saw on it. Keeps the fumes out of the cab, but I do like the smell of a two stroke!

I installed an external cb antenna on the drivers side pillar of number 7. I can actually hear what the Cobra 75 is receiving now. I test fit a bunch of gear on my trail rack. It sure opened up some room. I installed my can holders on the front fenders and made a spout for the scepter MFC. Then...
I got sick of my satellite radio cutting out whenever I'm pointing north. I punched a few holes in a 10" piece of strap and mounted the antenna to my frontrunner slimline II rack. Much better!
I also got my trail rack fabbed up and installed on the AEV tire carrier.
I put the trail rack on today. It was a pita by myself. A friend of mine stopped in, so I had some needed help eyeballing it.
I can hang off of it without it moving. Since I don't plan on carrying anything heavy on it, it'll be fine. Now I just have to build a holder for my chainsaw!
Well, tomorrow is the 12th already! If you're planning on making it for this trip, please send me a PM. I'm pretty sure we're going to have to drop half of the first day off. I've encountered snow on Pass creek pass on memorial weekend before, and those times tye snowfall was far less than this...
I talked to a Ranger today. Apparently, no one has even checked the roads yet. At least nobody has let the ranger station know if there was any damage to the roads. But, I am sure FR302 has snow on it. Probably a good amount of snow to.
I would say you'll be pretty safe bringing along whatever you take to 7 mile, @Dustin S. Godtfring . A tent, food and drinks, and a sleeping bag. It's all forest service roads, but since we don't know if the higher sections will be open yet, we may need recovery gear. I'm calling tomorrow to ask...
The surge is bigger and has a couple different tools. I've had both, I broke my wave. I still need to send it back to be replaced. Nice that leatherman has a lifetime warranty.
Leatherman Surge in a Nays Custom Leathers Holster. If you haven't looked into a holster from nayscustomleather on etsy, do it. Fits like a glove, and takes whatever you throw at it.
Well, I didn't get much sleep last night, I woke up and started thinking about this rack and about the trip for memorial weekend. I did have a few good ideas, but it sure didn't help me stay motivated enough to work on it when I finally got back tonight. And then my wife wanted to go out for...
I will be calling the ranger stations along the route this week, but I'm sure at least some of it will have snow, and could be closed still. I still plan on leaving on Friday morning. Even if some of the route is closed, we will still be able to explore some of the lower sections. I plan on...
If all goes well, and I get done in under 12 hours at work tomorrow, I'm going to at least get the rack mounted. The can carriers can wait. I don't like how much space is between the bars on the hitch rack, but some expanded metal will fix that.
I see no need to spend a butt load of cash on a...
