This will be my first mobile radio. I looked at the 2730 as well. I looked into the Kenwoods and Yaesu too. I think I figure out what I want, and something shiny catches my eye. Dual receive is attractive, as is cross band repeat. I like the Bluetooth functions of the 4100 and 5100.
Does anyone have any experience with this radio? I’m looking into mobile rigs, and the Id-4100a peaked my interest. I don’t believe it has crossband repeat, but I don’t know if I need that anyway.
I don’t know if I need D star either, but it sounds like fun.
Pewag square security chain is pretty hard to cut. A bolt cutter can’t cut it reportedly. I’m planning on using it through my wheels and around the axle. Cordless grinders have made security a tough subject.
The Harbor Freight trailer comes with a title, that’s why it’s so popular to build that way. To get a title on a homemade trailer here requires an inspection by the state patrol, and a fist full of receipts. I know a lot of states don’t require a trailer to be titled. I have an Eezi Awn, I...
I like the cdn trailers. My Bantam is a 1946, so I have a few rust issues to deal with. I’m going to with a 10lb propane tank, myself. But I will mount mine on the rear fender, only because I’m building Jerry can mounts on both front corners. I’m getting excited to install my tent soon!

The drilling is psychological torture at first. There is so many horror stories about the rack not fitting or leaking when installed. Take your time and read the directions a few times. You’ll be fine. My roof does leak in heavy rain, that hole probably wasn’t clean enough when I stuck the foam...
I have a Frontrunner slimline II. It does work with Rhino Rack accessories, as Road pointed out. There is so many accessories now. The possibilities are endless.
There is now much wind noise. Hardly any, actually. And I had my Eezi Awn RTT on it all last year. Very stout.
Installation is not...
I wish Facebook would allow phone numbers sometimes. Unless I'm selling stuff, then I don't want that. Lol! This is the best I could do, and screen shots take me a while to remember how to do.
Sorry, it's even pretty busy this year. If you haven't found a trailer already, get on Facebook marketplace and search sears trailer. There's one for $200 bo and it appears pretty solid. That's a great platform and deal!
I was just looking on Craigslist, there's a Mazda pickup box trailer for $100! Crappy pic, but you may want to check it out.
I may need to floor from my trailer. I need to hit the one I'm building real hard a couple times to see how the center is. I'll let you know soon.
I just saw this. Sorry to hear that. I will keep an eye out. I travel all over Spokompton pretty much everyday. Watch the surrounding areas on Craigslist also.
Do you have a trailer you're planning on building?
