I'm in Southern CA and long to leave the state. We have decided to make a decision when our oldest graduates high school which is next year. My sister in law lives in Kyle Tx which is near Austin. Right now we are torn between moving to TX or moving to the mountains here in CA (lake arrowhead).
The only issue with that is that its super slow. I find the app very slow for messaging. What about text? If people want to send me their phone numbers I can create a master list and start a group text message.

Ok guys were a Lil over a month away. Let's talk about comms. What is everyone using? I have cb but it sucks so after talking to the guys at mountain state overland I think I'm going to go with this and just hand out frs radios to anyone that doesn't have one...
Other than my tent I have: Outer limit supply first aid kit, maxtrax, axe, shovel, rotopax gear pod and soon to have a fire extinguisher. ill also be adding some lights to it before my next trip.
Yes according to their chart it won't really make a diff for you guys that have high humidity. Just thought it was different....

my tablet enabled GPS sucked which is the reason I went with an external GPS receiver (dual skypro gps). as far as the apps go I think you should just pick one and stick to it. they are all generally around the same.
