    Dispersed Camping

Never camped in Ohio, KY, or Indiana. I See Wayne NF and Daniel Boone NF in that area. Should be plenty of opportunities there. Get some maps and go explore. I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

    Dispersed Camping

For me, first thing I look for is National Forests in an area I want to explore. Then, I like to look around on Google Maps/Google Earth to see where the forest roads lead to. Often one may identify areas that look suitable for campsites. Each NF has different criteria for dispersed camping...

    Clothing Storage

Two things this reminds me of: It depends on how much space and weigh you can deal with and, what do with my fishy smelling clothes...hang them in a tree? Put them in a five gallon bucket with lid and tie on back of truck for "wash cycle". I probably need at least three changes of clothes...

    Clothing Storage

I try to pack often used clothes in easy to get to organizers like these: I put not so often used, but possibly needed at some point, in a dry bag duffle that can be stuffed out of the way. I have found that most things can be rolled up for packing and this saves time and space when looking...

A small piece of kit that gives huge piece of mind

Got some a while back after seeing this tread. I've showed them to a few people and noone had ever seen them before. I've never broken a stem, but it's too easy to have a contengency for it since it takes up practically no space. Chances are I would use them on someone elses rig. I don't...

How do you transport your fishing rod?

Yeah, I'm trying to get my son to take a bed so I can open a room just to store and organize the fishing gear. Looking at the posts in this thread it's obvious there are many ways to transport rods, etc. Depending on what your trip entails and equipment required. Breaking a rod is never a good...

    US West Canceled trips?

Going in August. Water is usually pretty low then. Sometimes they have to fly you in down river if it's too low. Looks like lots of interesting streams to check out in Central Idaho. Don't think I get bored.

    US West Canceled trips?

Yep, just signed on for a week long float fishing trip down the Middle Salmon, Idaho. Mo money, mo money, mo money! Don't care! I wasn't planning on dying rich anyway. Putin's going to pull the plug on life as we know it anyway, JK, hope not. Like @OldManJack said, "we ain't getting any...

    Camp spots

Long Bottom Ford on the Chattooga River comes to mind: https://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/scnfs/recarea/?recid=47103 As well as Burrells Ford: https://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/scnfs/recarea/?recid=47065 I usually look on Google Maps in the area I am looking to explore. It will show most...

    Mpg Worries

I have a '17 with 18" tires, lifted a little, RTT, etc. I noticed when I go much over 60 mph my mpg drops off a cliff. If I can cruise around 50 it gets close to 15 mpg. Just close. Depending on terrain and load. I sometimes pull a 3400 lb. boat/trailer and on flat land I may get 9-10 mpg...
