As far as the WJ goes, go check out the local junkyard and look for an overland edition. They have the skid plate package from the factory. They are pretty decent. I have an Overland and have banged them on a few rocks with just scratches. That would save you some money and you may be able to do...
Go check out the LED lights on amazon or ebay. I had mine for a few years before I sold my rig with no issues at all. Some do have bad seals around the glass so you can run a bead of silicone around it just as a precaution.
I'd go with a winch first. You can still get stuck with rear lockers, whereas if you have a winch you can get out of some bad situations as well as the above mentioned help other people in the process.
First Jeep I bought at 16 and it’s a 98 wrangler on v8 wj coils and 33” duratracs. Sold that in 2016 and bought an 03 Grand Cherokee Overland.

They are on off-road passport. That’s where his original build thread is. He currently drives a jkur that is getting the same love his wj got. The guy with the wj had some good plans for it but I didn’t check out the thread

How’s it going? I’m in Greenville NC. If they are still around, check out RAW (raleigh area wheelers). They had a Facebook page a few years ago but I lost touch of them. I might see you at uwharrie!

Zj washer reservoir to get rid of my bulky one and make more room for the tires. Next thing is to fab up a rear tire carrier with fuel mounts.
