Sorry for the delay! I would purchase a 2.5-3" spacer for the rear if you choose to go the Flatout suspension route. The adjustability of Flatout is useful, but based on my experience I would recommend oem stock struts with the HRG ultimate lift +245-75-16 tires for most Pilot owners.
My lift came together slowly over time as my budget allowed. If I were starting from scratch I would recommend 245-75-16 tires first, then recovery gear and skid plates. If you are satisfied with the pilots performance after that I would purchase the HRG 3” ultimate lift and possibly rear air...
I have haven't had any issues with cv life in the rear. In fact one of mine is still original after 280k miles! This is likely because they don't steer/turn like the front axles do.
I used MOOG RK100106 Control Arms in the rear and MOOG K90476 Camber bolts in the front.
I am running 62201...
Perfecting my Honda Pilot Lift Setup
This is the latest iteration of my Honda Pilot lift setup.
-HRG 1inch subframe drop
-Flatout suspension lift struts up front (still working through clunking issue after second set)
-Custom 3 1/4" lift spacers in the rear paired with Moog 81649 springs...
Here is my current Transmission cooler setup. It took creativity and cutting to get it all to fit under the grill cover with my custom front hitch receiver. I used two Hayden Automotive 678 Rapid-Cool Plates that I already had and installed them vertically under a pusher fan that I salvaged from...
Correction! Everyone else used the bean dip out of my traction boards... LOL
I haven't used my new boards yet, but they stack really nice and have more heft to them.
BUNKER INDUST Off-Road Traction Boards
I live in the Lowcountry of SC. My vehicle does great in the mud and doesn't diff out like a solid axle vehicle. I value recovery gear and have a setup that includes both front and rear winch options (the video below predates my hidden winch mount), as well kinetic rope, traction boards, gps...
You are right on with the tires! I had to cut to fit them, but the Yokohama Geolandar G003 M/T 235-85-16 tires aired down to 18psi give me tons of traction. At this point it is clear the 32" tires are not helping my crawl ratio.
