I got a little more progress done today, and probably as far as I will tear into the motor... I have a 5.0 out of a 1993 F-150 lined up to drop in, so I’m not too worried about pulling the engine apart at this time.
Tomorrow I’m going to work on getting everything worked over for the manual...

I found a 5.0L out of a 1991 F-150 with 140k on the odometer for $500.00... bought it and it will be delivered on the 1st of September. now looking for a shop to do my motor and transmission swap for me. Or a hoist.

Did yours have the low fan setting? I found putting a bag of ice in mine along with the insulated cover makes it draw a lot less amps. I ran the cooler twice for a couple of hours in 100+ temps over 4 days and still had over 3/4 of the bag of ice (most ended up in our drinks), and the fridge...
