Hey man, overlanding isn't about off roading. It's vehicle dependent travel. You don't have to go to some technical course to get around. Just don't over estimate your vehicle.
Def. short notice. I'm doing the same trip in Sept-Oct. If I could swing it I would come but 10-14 days is too long right now. This is my busy season at work.
I think you answered the question. Depends on where you are going. If in sand, sometimes it's soft and sometimes it's hard. A basic route of dirt can be flooded with 24" of water one day and 2 days later it's not there. A washout with bad camber and eat lifted trucks alive and you may run into...
Theres only 1 trail within 45 mins of there. It's also a trail that we couldn't take more than a few rigs to. It's legal, but cops wouldn't like a group showing up.
This is mainly going to be a get together @ Pep Boys in East Brunswick, NJ. HOWEVER, there will be deals to be had for Overland Bound members who show up to the event. There will be specials on 23zero, Snomaster, SmittyBilt, Hi Lift, and others! Coffee and donuts will be provided as well as swag...
I'm in the process of getting something setup. I'll have giveaways and other member benefits. I'm on vacation next week so I'll start planning and locking down a date then. Stay tuned.
These are amazing.
So are these, but way more expensive.

I have both in shorts and pants. Love them both the same. If I had to pick, the PDW are lighter but...
Haha there's all different sizes.
OP, I just didn't want you see you make a mistake. I'll stay silent on it. What I've learned from my truck so far is, if you can't afford to do it right the first time...wait. Because in the end you do it over again and pay twice.
I'm not really curious as to why you chose 20" wheels, but I do think you are going in the wrong direction regardless of the reason. 17" should be max if you plan to do anything other than dirt fire roads.
