I know of two trips planned right now... other than that, I am hoping to be spending this summer building my future and fishing in what little spare time I do have.

Looks like I’m building another 2m antenna next month. Our local ham club is hosting another antenna building class... this time instead of a J-Pole we are doing a dual quad beam.
Don’t say the license is cheap for GMRS because it isn’t when compared to Ham... ham is $15/person for life... a lot of clubs offer a discount for students (as in free) as well... GMRS is $65/10 years... so a family of 4 can get licensed for $30-60 for life that’s still $5-30 less than GMRS for...
I’ve got them all... I am not sure when I will be able to do the trip... some things have come up, and my trips for 2021 might not be many... I have 3 for sure commitments... after that we will see how things pan out between Memorial Day and Labor Day.
Wrong... any aircraft over a certain size and weight requires a license from the FAA as of 2018.... hence I don’t fly my Lanier Stinger

The enlightenment is imagine the FRS radio reaching 90-100 miles... same voice clarity (if not better) as the handhelds and the range where only the hills get in our way... with some ingenuity even the hills don’t make that much of a difference...
Pi-Star only operates as a hotspot... PiStar wipes out Rasberrian and the hat also seams the pi useless as a pi... swap sd cards and remove the MMMDVM Hat and then you can use it as a pi again... second you have to have a MMMDVM radio (Kenwood, Icom, Yasue, Or DMR) to work with the Pi-Star...
