I've got a 10 inch black and decker 20v. Not a speed demon but has cut everything I've wanted to cut with it. I'm selling it with my other B&D 20V tools to consolidate on Bauer 20V stuff.
Got the besttop and frame back down out of the rafters for the Cj5. As much as I like rolling around topless or with just a bikini top I prefer for the kids to have some cover from the sun so went ahead and threw it back on minus all the windows. This allows it to function like an oversized...
I just spray lube the bar/chain every other cut. But my saw has a pretty low chain speed too. I've found that no matter what saw I use the bar oil reservoir always winds up leaking all over stuff in the back of the Jeep so I figured it wasn't worth it and I'd just spray lube it.
What you were doing wrong is using low power handhelds within the confines of a vehicle. A car is kind of like a faraday cage when it comes to radio signals. They'll make it out but their range will be greatly reduced vs not being inside. The advantage of a mobile unit is the antenna is on...
Day before yesterday I got the wifey to help test fit an ACME hard top that I drove 400 miles round trip in the XJ to pickup in Houston.
Needs a lot of cleaning plus one hole and a few small cracks patched but for 100 dollars I think I did well lol.
Don't try to make one antenna cover all of your needs. Antennas take up very little space. On my XJ I keep my extra antennas on the floor next to the driver and passenger seats. Not to mention different gain antennas can do different jobs for you based on your terrain. I keep both high and...
I clung to my purpose built GPS receivers for a long time. I finally made the move to the phone and tablet based navigation (that don't require cell service to work) and never looked back. IMO this is the direction you should look. Multiuse items are far better to me than single use items.
Why is your propane stove in a pelican case? That's a good way to take a good compact stove and double or triple it's size unnecessarily, they're pretty tough as it is.
A few from my last trip to the Ouchita Ntl Forest with my kiddos and a buddy of mine.
Night one east of Talimena Oklahoma off of the Talimena Skyway.
Night 2 at a creekside campsite north of Athens Arkansas.
Night 3, unsure of exact spot without looking at GAIA but it was somewhere east...
I started doing this as well. The Sawsall is quite quick at getting fallen debris out of the way and I only break out the chainsaw (that runs on the same batteries) for the larger stuff.
I did actually pick up an air rifle finally. I took it on my last trip to the Ouchitas and enjoyed having it along quite a bit. Made for some evening entertainment. Gamo Wisper 10X in .22 cal. Certainly not high end but seems to be quite accurate. I've hit my steel 2/3 sized silhouette...
We got hammered with a storm that lasted a few hours overnight while in the Ouchitas this week. I think it was Monday night into Tuesday morning. Not a drop of water in the tent so now I can confirm they are pretty weather tight.
The landscape of communications in nearly all off road communities is pretty factured. You have groups that still cling to CB, a growing crowd using GMRS and the nerds among us using HAM.
I'm setup for all 3 just for this reason on my XJ. In my CJ I'm only setup for GMRS as that's what our...
Took the XJ and the kids and met up with a buddy (Pro4X Frontier) in the Ouachita National Forest after his return from a deployment and spent 4 days/nights tooling around and camping in different spots every night.

Don't fold up your tents, stuff them. Its a stuff sack not a fold sack. Just take one corner of the tent and start stuffing it in it's bag till you're done. You'll find it a lot easier and faster.
You HAVE to stake the side hubs out or they will collapse in on even moderate winds. I...
