A good aggressive A/T will do decent in mud... my best advice is to get a buddy with a rig that is larger than yours with a winch and straps to fallow you to a mud hole and go get stuck a few times... after getting buried 7-20 times you figure out what works and doesn’t work for you and your rig.

Your questions regarding snorkels is justified... As for the benefits of snorkels being documented... the US military spent billions of dollars researching the effectiveness of snorkels... as for Power Gains... they are minimal at most, and any power increase is more than likely due...
That is what my dad runs in his 1996 Ranger since... umm... well... 1996. His truck is his DD and trail truck here in the Northwest. It works great for him and his needs...
Repeater N7EXH in Portland has Echolink nodes? But if you can access the OB Net via the repeater you need to contact the owner of said repeater. I have two Echolink repeaters here, but due to the purpose of those repeaters, I can’t link them to the OB Net, so have to log in via app or pc.
Most snorkel kits aren’t waterproof... they are there to get to the clean air above the dust... are they worth it... I drive 90% gravel roads and I have to change my air filter every six months... I’m looking at a diy snorkel for my rig... other’s experiences might differ.

The tent will still condensate without people in it... take a ziplock bag outside and set it on the ground sealed up, there will be frost inside the bag.
That might work... I miss the Colorado Front Range... I am heading to CS sometime in 2021 to visit my kids, so even if this doesn’t work out, I’ll be up in your region sometime before the snow flies again in 2021... I’ll keep you posted on my plans.
