For some, it happened years ago, for others, yesterday. No matter the time or effort, we all started somewhere on a journey towards the “Spirit of the Wild!” Thank you Uncle Ted for reminding us of our roots!
Do you remember what it was like starting out on your journey? These are the campfire...
Finally got around to putting the original hook points on. Sure didn't have faith in the poorly welded points that were on the bumper. So now I have a secure spot to grab onto!
Appreciate the comments! I guess I might have to be the test dummy for this unit! The other options are too costly for my blood. Since power was a topic, I am definitely not concerned with power consumption. My system design is stout! I also would not run it constantly either so there’s that...
Recently completed a 13 day North GA/NC/SC route and Starlink worked like a charm! Even with obstructions, I was able to send pics and use Wi-Fi calling. Yes it took a little longer to send but concept works! Not once did I loose comms.
Does anyone use this type of product? Is there a better one out there thst won’t break the bank? It is stupid hot in my rig at times and a little relief would be nice!

I totally agree about just using “manual.” This will be the only time I go thru this. If it fails again, so be it. I still have confidence in my truck, and I bought it used…so this time I will have patience with it.

I hate paying Ford dealer prices but I’m at the mercy...

Anyways, my 4wd is vacuum actuated at the hubs. When I rebuilt the axle, everything was replaced. When I went on my test ride to north FL, I got stuck in the sand. That’s when I knew something was...
I almost got that oven but the wife got me the Ninja Woodfire™ 8-in-1 Outdoor Oven instead and holy smokers this thing is another game changer! Set me off on a year long hunt for a perfect pizza dough! Smoked brisket sealed the deal too!
What a trip! Amazing peace and tranquillity! The rain held off most days in the beginning and only 1 rainy night! It was absolutely perfect weather! The truck performed admirably and only a few things wiggled loose!
After the GA Traverse, the SCAR was a letdown. But my adventure spirit pushed...

After 11 days in the woods, I am finally on my way home! It started at zero dark thirty and 20 foot elevation in SWFLA, thru the GA mountains via the W->E route of the GA traverse, to our highest point of 6500+- at Clingmans Dome, thru Toccoa which we drove the “Currahee” Mountain. Tomorrow we...
