This bolt wasn’t “Heat-Stuck”... I should have taken a picture of the intake manifold... the bolt had completely decomposed and turned into some weird metal and bonded with the aluminum... the only steel was the bolt head itself.
It’s full 24 hour event we will have stations on the air the whole 24 hours. It begins at 1800 UTC Saturday and ending at 2059 UTC Sunday. Which translates to 11 am Saturday to 13:59 Sunday. (I think we actually wrap up early because we start setup on Friday night.
Personally I would look for...

Correct you are doubling the 70cm and effectively easing the dB gain as well... I didn’t say not to check SWRs i was saying even an antenna out of the box needs to be checked and possibly tuned for peak performance.
For your keep top, you could run a 5/8 wave antenna since it doesn’t require a...
Check back in July/August... FCC still hasn’t sent the announcement for the fee change (currently tied up in Congress) . Once the proposed process is confirmed by congress and the new fee system is adopted by the FCC it will be 30-60 days before the process is implimented and we see a change in...
Yes... but all antennas are supposed to be “Tuned” out of the box... some are within reason while others not so much... also talking 2m and 70 cm whips, most have a lot of fudge room so going with a 4” spring isn’t going to make the SWR above 2:1 and most modern day transceivers can accept a...
