Thanks Scott, we are glad you made the trip! and thank you for posting up your pictures (good job parking the Jeep under the Nighthawk sign, looks like you are carrying it on the roof..lol) Looking forward to doing another trip with you soon.
Well the WABDR provided a sufficient amount of dust to test out the new ARB twin and a blow gun, big improvment over the single, but still would benifit from a small 1 gallon tank, both for blowing off the rear of the Jeep prior to setting up camp, and for improved performance when blowing out...
With the single ARB I get short burst of enough air to move dust, CFM is not enough for continuous blowing. Going to install a small 1 Gal tank inline when I mount it permantly that will give me plenty for an airgun. Will find out this weekend when I test the ARB Twin on the JK how well it...
I have not used this particular antenna, but in general checking the SWR after mounting an antenna is a good idea, most antennas come factory tuned for good SWR in the middle of each of the bands it is designed for, but this is likely based on a mount in the middle of a flat roof with no...
I am likely in the minority, but I prefer to run the Midland GMRS radios, I primarily use GMRS for trails / convoy comms and do not want use a ton of extra features such as wide band receive etc (I have HAM and other radios for that) I tried some other brands and did feel like thier receivers...
Like the idea of a power tank, would be fine for local trips where I know I can fill it easily, but here lots of storys of it hard to find fill locations on trips. I also use compressed air to blow dust of my rig before opening up the rear doors and hatch when I get to a lunch spot or camp. I...
That does not sound like fun, Screw it up sailing? My back goes out when a freind calls and wants help moving...lol Hope you get better soon, your always welcome last minute if things get better.
Great video! will there be capablity to switch route color as you move to a different type of routing, or just anytime you want to differentiate between sections? without stopping the route and creating a new one? I do this often in my routes and tracks and use standard colors to indicate...
Paul, Welcome to Overland Bound!, Nice looking rig. I am your closest member rep, please feel free to reach out if you have any questions as you explore the site. @M Rose has already given you a run down of places to checkout in the froums which are great places to get started. A lot of...
We are not planning on going as far as Leavenworth, how about we meet a few miles west at Coles Corner (Squirrel Tree Restaurant / Gas Station) the turn off to Lake Wenatchee, We should be there by 9:30.
We hav had the small camp chef fire pit for years, works well, only problem is all the lava rock will end up in the bag if it gets tipped during transport. not a problem in our larger rigs, but not so good when we carry it in our spare tire trash bag in the JK, for that we went with the Ignik...
Its only the first hole thats hard, kind of like the first dent or scratch in a rig. Just run a drill bit thru the wall where you want the window, then your level of commitment gets much stronger lol. Had the same problem drilling 10 holes thru the hardtop on my Jeep for a roof rack and...
Alas, I am still working with a TRS-80 Computer brain...lol That was our first computer back in about 1979, came complete with a whopping 4k of Ram, and the optional external storage drive (a fancy cassete tape player) took forever to do anything on it. Never guessed back then we would be...
Personally, I feel the $60 is a good deal just to support the add free forum community, without factoring in all the benifits of the mapping and other goodies that keep growing on OB-1. I have had Gaia for years, works great(ish) as a map platform, but does not come with the community of like...
We have never been one to run new rigs, in our current fleet the newest is 2013 with 110k, and the oldest 1991 with north of 400k. I try to purchase clean used rigs with less than 100k on them and preferably good proven service history, then we keep them until ... well we just keep them lol...
