@JJLove, You would have been talking to my wife Michelle over on FB. Take a minute to check out the benefits of membership, which appears to be $20 off at the moment for annual membership. gets you full access to the OB-1 app with offline mapping/navigation and a great database of points...
@Sea Diamond, Welcome to Overland Bound. Some beautiful countryside in your pictures, great that you can dedicated large chunks of time to your trips. Look forward to seeing more pictures and stories of your travels.
I thought about a check valve, but figured if it was constantly dripping oil the line would be full and not work as an inlet at all, unless the oil only happens during hard acceleration and would then clear itself back into the engine on normal cruising. Might be worth an experiment
Fortunately we do not have smog testing anymore in Washington. The JK has a pvc valve at the rear of the right cylinder head that runs to the air intake behind the valve body, there is a second line serving as a filtered intake running from the airbox to the left rear cylinder head, All the...
Went through a bit less than 1 quart in 4k miles. Agreed, I am not one to simply put up with the old it's a Jeep thing or "they all do it". Funny enough it seems like the throttle body is not getting much oil from the PCV line, its all getting blown back into the airbox from the intake vent...
We installed the WeBoost for Truckers on our JK and so far have not seen much of a difference in signal strength. Have the outdoor antenna mounted on the left rear corner of the roof rack on a folding mount, and the internal antenna mounted on the dash below the heater controls. Defiantly...
Thank you, going to install a catch can if for no other reason to keep the filter from getting covered and dripping out the vent holes all over the frame. It was just odd that it would go from never any oil to what I consider a lot in the course of one day (we check and blow out the filter...
Have a 2013 Jeep JK with 110k that we have owned for a little over a year. Until recently the air box never had a drop of oil inside, now suddenly we are getting quite a bit of oil coming in from the PCV fresh air intake line (running backward from valve cover to air box). Can not find a...
Currently on a trip thru Montana with 80mph speed limits, driving a fully loaded JK with more aerodynamic drag than a brick and a gutless V6 we enjoy spending 99% of our time in the right hand lane, and get back over to the right as soon as we can on the rare occasion that we actually find...
When we looked into it prior to Covid, the price we were quoted was quite a bit more than driving up would cost especially if booking a room, They also had a chart of how much the fare increased based on how full the ferry was at time of booking, at 90 percent full it was 50% surcharge over...
Michelle & I are travelling back to Washington from our Yellowstone trip and will be staying in Missoula for NYE and thought we would throw out a New Year's Eve Lunch Meetup to visit with any local OB members. Please RSVP if you would like to attend so we can grab enough table space.

Welcome David, looks like you are only about an hour north of our location. Glad to have you aboard, please feel free to drop me a note if you have any questions as you explore the site. Hope to see you at a meetup or trail run one day.
Staying safe so far, freezing rain on most of the trip over. We almost always wing it, Due to the rather nasty weather that was happening across the route from WA to MT, we elected to cheat and Hotel it this time (We did choose a second floor room though so it felt kind of like a hard...
Merry Christmas /Happy Holidays to all, hoping everyone has safe travels, enjoys shine good food, and finds that cool piece of gear they have been wanting. Michelle and I found some much needed small gear to fill out the nooks and crannies of Eeyore the Jeep. Now we are hanging out waiting...
I second @grubworm with the diesel heater, we have used tents for years, mostly unheated mainly because we pretended to be tougher back then, but more likely too cheap. Even sleeping with the windows open resulted in a tent that was wetter on the inside than the outside. Enter the Mr Buddy...
Great Idea to get input on posted route prior to trip and incorporate into final version BEFORE departing, especially on small to medium sized group, Totally agree on the TL gripe!
