I have two of these in our kitchen box, one in my toolbox at work, and have gifted one to a friend who also loves the outdoors. Best $8 ea I have ever spent!
Hey Branson, firstly, Thank you for your service! Secondly, hello and welcome from Asheville! There are a few of us in the area. I used to go through Columbus a couple times a week when I was running armored trucks, really loved seeing that area!
Don't hesitate to call on us, I can't speak for...
I used to work for them as well. AGM when they decided to lay all of the AGMs off. [emoji849]
The AGM battery shouldn't explode, but it still wouldn't be good to have a dead short!
Good call as long as the cable is out of the way of anything that could damage it, also take into consideration any edges or objects that may contact it in a collision. Exploding batteries are less fun than they sound!
The closer to the source the better, with fuses. Less opportunity to tear things up. I saw the terminals you were talking about, I like those a lot more than the ones I shared, cleaner and easier to disconnect particular cables.
Thank you so much! It's been a blessing having all of this equipment at my disposal. Just need to pick up a tig welder now and we'll be set for the most part.
I think I'm going to go up there now and start on some sliders. Still need to buy the material for my sleeping platform and roof rack...
Sorta, I don't want 1000 HP, but enough torque to use 5th gear would be nice! It's got factory 4.56s in it and I don't really want to regear. I do need to fix a knock sensor issue so once that's resolved my lack of power may have a little more help.
It is, but I've also been considering other options. I've thoroughly researched the 3.4 swap but also thinking about an OM603/OM617 swap. It's only money, right? [emoji51]
I saw that earlier! I've had a lot of practice with wiring over the last few years, I do have one question for you though, do you have the power wire for that distribution block fused? That's a long stretch of large gauge wire that could cause some pretty major issues if something were to happen...
We've got some good spots to play out here. The private stuff is my favorite. Let me know!
Definitely share your set up, I always need new ideas for power distribution, especially when bigger loads are getting involved.
I understand. I like hiding the distribution terminal so the engine bay gets a nice clean look to it and the wiring is a little more hidden. I was hoping that you didn't mean like some of the backwoods wiring gurus who attach EVERYTHING to the battery with 14ga wire and 3/8" ring terminals...
I can't stand running a bunch of wires off of a single battery terminal. When I relocated the battery for my turbo swap in the supra I used something similar to this. One cable from the front to the rear and everything ties into the single post near the old location for the battery.
I also...
I've got a couple friends with CUCVs and I've always had a soft spot for them. Personally I'd really like a deuce. [emoji48]
Keep up the good work! Killer progress and designs, I'm jealous!
Coming along nicely! I love foresters, and lifted ones even more. I tried to buy this one from my friend after he rescued it from a trip to the scrap yard, but he decided not to sell it.
It's lifted with Kumho mud tires on it, 27x8.50R14 road ventures. It's kinda goofy looking with the lights...
I'm fond of all of them except for the 4th Gen, aesthetically. Though I wish toyota used the UZ engines in some of the others! Thanks! Lots more to come!
Thanks! You know I hadn't really thought about it like that. I've always thought about how 4Runners were so popular that most people would...
This will be a neat project! I'm intrigued to see how it turns out and really wonder how capable it is around the mountains here! Sounds like you're off to a good start!
