That is a good question. Had not thought about the potential negative impacts of that. I think bleach breaks down/volatilizes rather quickly. And think about the amount of bleach needed in a gallon or 2 for sterilization, it is not very much a capful I would say. Need to do a bit more...
That is the next step now that my water tank is on the way. Lets see whatcha got!
Planning on going with collapsible basins, maybe 2 sinks so I can do a rinse with bleach. The goal is to make it removable and hopefully easily installed at camp.
Yep! LOTS of Forest Service. campsites closed around us. They like to blame it on trash and impact of the environment ( rouge fire rings, trampling of vegetation, unauthorized expansion of campsites, etc.). But I think you hit it on the head. Sad! The new normal sucks!
I put it in my cart last night but did not pull the trigger. Today they put up a code for 25% of anything camping related, camp25 incase they don't give it to you. It took the total down from the sale price of $129 yesterday to $111 today, normal price is $149. They got me! Just ordered it.
I almost didn't see your response, it was hidden in my text.
Yes, here it is.

They look nice. The 4800 was on sale the other day for $49, which is a screaming deal. I just don't see the right sizes you would need to make this happen. The rifle case is nice and long but it is not very deep. The 5800 is getting there but you would need like 4-6 of them to get the...
Last big thing I bought was the OVS Nomadic LT 270 awning for the trailer.
Just ordered some little niceties for the trailer today; mixing bowls, magnetic paper towel dispenser, cutting board.
About to buy a 13 gal water tank and hook up an on demand pump (that I already have)
I think outdoor adventure has a bit more staying power than rollerblades or pet rocks. I wish you were right, but I have a feeling a lot more people are going to stick with it than you think.
The great thing is most of those people are going to stay on the beaten path, there are still lots...
I am thinking about getting this 13gallon water storage tank for our trailer. Plan on mounting it underneath.
Do people drink water out of their on board water storage tanks? I feel like eventually if not drained each time algae could grow.
So, do you?
On the bright side of our visit last summer, our son was in 4th grade. 4th graders get a free pass for the National Parks, so we got into all fo them for FREE.99!!
It is sad to see it go this way, but I think it might be a necessary and inevitable step. We visited Great Sand Dunes, Arches, Teton, Yellowstone and Glacier last summer. Luckily we were earlyish in the season and had good timing, but it was pretty much a shit show. Yellowstone was the worst...
What do y'all do for a paper towel dispenser in your rigs or trailers? I need something that I can remove and stow away when we are going down the road and easily attach to the trailer when we get to camp.
Ideas?
Been to 7, a handful numerous times.
Parks like the Grand Canyon have a whole subset of visitors that take a trip down the Colorado through the canyon. That trip has it's own set of dangers. But ohhh, how wonderful it is!
Then you have climbers in Yosemite and Zion, that has to up the...
