Joined a few weeks ago, been learning for about 1 year through YouTube channels and this forum, big thanks to Overland Bound. Wife and I planning some road trips in a few years, so getting rig ready now, along with local trips. We're in Miami and need to drive up a...
Great truck; I just picked a '94 FZJ80 Land Cruiser at Virginia, drove down to Miami; it's from Japan and RHD as welli. Great trucks, low miles.
Im trying to locate Rubber floor mats for RHD, were you successful in locating any?
Like the Weather Tech ones.
Congrats on new rig...
Current Hurricane Dorian is finally gone from our area.
Finally got an official rig for regular adventure trips, and any potential future emergency escapes. '94 Toyota FZJ80 LC.
Lifted, M/T tires but no snorkel yet.
Need a winch and tow straps still.
I'll be ready if/ when the next one comes.

I lived through Hurricane Andrew and I know very well that feeling of extreme heat and humidity at nights with no a/c in Miami; definitely not good memories.
Miami got spared this time of such a disaster; now it's going up the coast. This concept of being prepared for disasters is the right mindset; first plan on taking care of your own family, then you'll be able to assist others in need.
My plan is to have the new rig ready for traveling to a...
Agree
House is boarded up, vehicles gassed up, Generator is ready. I have a recovery box with chain saw, straps and other necessities for after storm related issues. Thanks.
Down here in Miami I think we've been spared this time from major disaster; I'm very concerned for the central and northern east of Florida coast. We'll start getting some Tropical Storm winds later this afternoon.
Agree, you guys live in a beautiful place for extensive travel and exploring... lucky. There's beautiful areas here, you just need to drive north a bit; nothing in the Miami area, other than spectacular beaches (which ain't bad).
Stay safe.

I would say depends what extreme action you do; those who go into salt water creeks or run offs, yeah that frame will take a hit faster.
For the most part, staying out of salt water marshes, won't be that bad.
The rain and general exposure to older vehicles will get rusted faster; the metal...
I live in Miami and have realized how an Overlanding type vehicle can assist in situations where you either need to relocate before a storm hits; or possibly after it does. I've dodged these storms all my life; currently planning on acquiring an 80 series Toyota for regular trips, and potential...
First of all, thank you for the opportunity on becoming a new member of such a respected community.
Located in Miami, Florida.
Have a couple of FJ40's and an FZJ-80 Series on its way soon.
Love the outdoors, hiked and camped at Grand Canyon twice. Kids are grown up, wife and I planning road...
