Nearly all the high elevation mountain passes in Colorado will still be closed.
It would be a pretty good time to visit UT Canyonlands as it won't be so hot yet.

Have you checked to see when Rimrocker usually opens? Since there is some elevation there it may be still blocked with snow in the spring.
Also, have you looked at getting your white rim camping reservations, etc? There can be quite the lead time.

I was assuming, perhaps incorrectly, that some would be uncomfortable spending the night in a tent in the Wal-Mart parking lot. And I'm not speaking from a safety perspective. It just seems weird to me. I'm probably the only one with that hangup. LOL. But maybe that's because I'm not a tent...

I was under the impression that some portions were single track only and required a detour for trucks. I don't recall where I got that from, however.
