US East Running the Trans America Trail (TAT) from WV to the OR coast

It was intended as a joke. Just hit the fast-forward button on your truck and head towards the Rockies.

Haven't you heard?? There has been such an increase of traffic on the TAT in recent years that they've begun to pave it! :sunglasses:

@DEADBEEF , do you think you'll still want to visit the Great Sand Dunes NP? If so, which TAT version are you?

Thanks for the updates! (I was following you around Tupelo trying to imagine what you were up to.) What are TAT 2.0's plans for Colorado? North on Shadow or west on the traditional route?

Who all is interested in continuing west?

If nothing else, I hope you can regroup near Trinidad, CO if not before. It'll become more interesting. Plus I'd sure like to meet everyone.

Aww, bummer. I had it in November so I can relate.

It looks like the other group turned back to Lafayette, GA. Do you have plans to regroup?

Alpine Loop CO, is this route okay?

When I'm base camping, I tend to default to the Ironton Park area. It's convenient to Ouray, Silverton, Ophir, Imogene, Corkscrew / Hurricane / California. It's not all that convenient to Engineer and Cinnamon, however. There are several dispersed spots in the woods, but also bigger open...

Alpine Loop CO, is this route okay?

I was mistaken about August. It is September: https://www.overlandbound.com/event/hooray-ouray/ Folks often put together additional trips there. If you're alone and want some company, there's a good chance we could help you out. I asked about your lodging because if you were camping along...

Alpine Loop CO, is this route okay?

Oh, and Imogene did have a few rough spots last year. Just take it slow and easy. Use low range and first gear when descending hills as necessary. We've got a trip planned in August if you'd like to join.

Alpine Loop CO, is this route okay?

Hello, Destin! Spent many summers around there and PCB growing up! You'll do fine. I do that in my mostly stock full size Chevy. When are you thinking of heading out? What do you plan for camping / lodging?

US Rocky Mountain COLORADO: Miner's Loop & More!

@JDGreens, we had one drop out today. I also notice there are 2 RSVPs that also signed up and were no shows for JJ3.

Vanity Call Signs! What does YOURS mean?

I didn't consider it an intrusion, but found it interesting. I haven't seen the movie in a long time. I had forgotten the lead roles. For me, my vanity license plate and call sign are one and the same. I think a thread for plates would make a good topic as well.

    Overlanding near loveland Co.?

Several of us are hoping to find some dispersed camping within a reasonable distance. However, much of the area we might look at is now a burn scar as I understand it. If you find something promising, please let us know. Here's the associated Rally Point placeholder...

US Rocky Mountain Coffee and Rigs

@Gloriaib , did you see the direct message I sent you on Thursday? BTW, if you're using the app you may not be able to see that I'm the Rocky Mtn Region Director so helping with these things is kind of my job. I'm not some randon nut job. Well, at least not random, maybe. LOL

    US Rocky Mountain Hooray Ouray

If you've done Hurricane and California you've probably done Corkscrew. Any chance you'll be doing the Moab trip in Oct? That would be a good one to combine with Rimrocker if you have enough time. I love Rimrocker because it takes you some where, but it's not nearly as fun as the trails at...

Have you done Imogene, Ophir, Black Bear, Corkscrew, Hurricane, California, etc?
