Welcome Mike! 2WD is definitley NOT going to limit you for the vast majority of overlanding activities if you have the right tires and driving habits.

I had one of these for about 9 months. LOVED IT, but lost it :/ What about Kingsnake …you know, because the Mexican Black Kingsnake being from Mexico (out in the desert where most prerunners compete), where Saltillo is, where the SRT 10 was assembled and of course a bit of an homage to the TNT...

Great job man! Kaizen foam FTW! I tried something similar in multiple layers a while back and loved it. I did relocate it all into a Pelican case several months ago though so I can be more mobile if need be. No rattles = Happiness

I spent a few years of indecisive browsing before seeing an FJ that made me think about it as an option. I was seriously considering among other things a new Rubicon, but test drove a few and it just didn't feel right for me, despite my great affinity for its exterior shape, dynamic...

I have an ARB X-Jack that I carry in addtion to my Hi-Lift on long remote trips, it packs up pretty flat so why not eh. I don't have a winch so I rely more on my Hi-lift, which I've used twice for recovery, and numerous wheel removals for various reasons. I consider it a wothwhile investment...

So sorry for your loss man. But...Good for you! Get out there with the family and explore. I think you'll be fully satisfied with a Rubicon :)
