    4x4 Systems Education Sites?

I’m new to the 4x4 scene. I’m planning to buy a newer model diesel truck and slowly convert it into an overland camper. My knowledge of the 4x4 market is sorely lacking. Do you guys have a link to some good education sites? When buying a used truck, it’d be good to have a good idea of what to...

How do you Shower Outdoors without Poluting

All those who camp out of trucks with no bathroom, how do you shower without polluting the environment? I’m just looking for ideas. I’m sure there’s many ideas. I’d like to hear them please.

What other military vehicles would you suggest?

    Buying a Vehicle for Overlanding

Thank you. That’s the kind of answer I needed. All modern cars and trucks have complex electrical systems. I don’t think there’s any getting away from that, especially with self driving cars/trucks on the horizon. I’m wondering, if after working out major problems the first year or two of...

    Buying a Vehicle for Overlanding

To drive on certain surfaces, such as sand or mud, it's recommended that the tire pressure be lowered. Can this be done on any kind of wheel or are beadlock wheels required? All of my backcountry driving has been done using a Honda CRV, but there were places I couldn't go and had to turn down.

No, I need a project to work on. A slide in camper won’t do it for me.

    Buying a Vehicle for Overlanding

I have tent camped across much of the western US and Canada. My trips usually last 1-2 months. My last trip was to the artic circle and lasted two months. I just love that lifestyle. Now I want a reliable camper to live in. I’m relying on your experience and expertise.

    Buying a Vehicle for Overlanding

Made a list of the positives and negatives: LMTV Positives -a true go anywhere vehicle -8’ width gives me more room inside -rugged -heavy payload capability -diesel engine -central tire inflation system -full time 4x4 -can climb a 60% slope -22” ground clearance -reliable...

    Buying a Vehicle for Overlanding

Don’t companies like Grigsby go over the whole truck and engine making them more reliable?

    Buying a Vehicle for Overlanding

Right now I’m wondering if the positives outweigh the negatives for the LMTV’s. At $1500 each tire, how long do they last. You guys have been talking a lot about the quality of diesel fuel around the world. Won’t there be a problem with low quality diesel? I’ve heard that mechanics for that...

    Buying a Vehicle for Overlanding

I like that LMTV, so I’m going to contact the company about the mpg and overall size. I’m guessing the mpg will make it impractical for me. Plus, I would need someone to teach me how to maintain it. Didn’t one of you suggest I stay away from military surplus vehicles due to how hard they are...

    Buying a Vehicle for Overlanding

Also, what should I look for? How hard is it to find one with some of the work already done? Large 4x4 tires? Suspension? Fording equipment?

    Buying a Vehicle for Overlanding

I do have some carpentry and fiberglass/carbon fiber skills. I plan to experiment a little with making foam and fiberglass and foam and carbon fiber sandwich panels. I already have some vacuum bagging equipment. The hard part for me is getting around the curved edges. Is it better to use two...

    Buying a Vehicle for Overlanding

That’s what I thought. Thanks! Now, would you guys mind SHOWING me a photo or a link of a truck you think will work for me please. I want to keep my options somewhat broad. I’m willing to explore others besides the F250/350. Also, I’ll need some links to sales pages for me to browse for the...
