Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
It is a long way to go for a camp in the rain from the South West. Normally we head south for some sun. Last summer was a trip around the Alps. April we went down to Spain. So I guess we are due a wet trip this summer. Fingers crossed it's not too wet and not too many midges. Last time we went...
I shall have a look. I was planning a route last month, but in the end thought we'd just go wherever takes our fancy. Although Mull, Skye and the NC500 are a given.
Am I the luckiest man alive? My wife keeps telling me we need to get that or sort this, spend more money on the Land Rover. She loves overlanding, camping the outdoors. That said, she still want's the house decorated and new carpets, oh and a new bathroom.
Off to the highlands and islands this time next week for 3 or 4 weeks. London on the other hand is too.............expensive, it's £100 a day to LR into London.
We are a like short on true wilderness in the UK. So the best definition I can come up with for the UK is wilderness is a place without phone signal. For me culture and heritage are as an important part of overlanding as landscape and wildlife. We all need a good tea room.
Hi Gotrovr, what dates are you in the UK? I live in the south west of England, although not on your planned route. Bovington and Blandford are only about an hour and a half from my place. That said we are planning to go to the Scottish Highlands and Islands for 3 or 4 weeks this summer but...
I'm in the UK, looking at the map there seems to be a big ocean in the way. I think I'd need to find one here or in western Europe, so I can try before I buy. But that is a lovely truck.
Tim, I not going to make it this weekend I am afraid. My wife's horse has been on load to someone and they just asked my wife to take him back. So I have to move the horse this weekend. Hope you have a great time though.
Can I ask if you had to have the sides strengthened to take the weight of the roof and two people sleeping up there?
It is a really nice job you have had done there.
